HAYDEL

HAHNVILLE – Isabella Kelly Haydel, 67, a native of St. Charles Parish and resident of Hahnville, died Aug. 12. She was the wife of Warren Haydel, mother of Debra Barre, Sabrina Ursin, Rochelle Clark, Marcelette Simon, David, Roy Jr., Kemit, Benjamin and Anthony Pierre, and the late Alvin Mitchell, and stepmother of Terry Moore, Judy Bastain, Melinda Edwards, Edna Harris and Claudette Favorite.

She was also the daughter of the late Ruben Kelly and Eva Ernest, and sister of Ernest and Richard Bartley, Vernon and Yvonne McCarthey, Vera Scott, Dorothy Bryant, Barbara Dorsey, and the late Robert and Eldridge McCarthey.

She is also survived by 34 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 16 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Hahnville, with interment at Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery, Boutte.

HYMEL

NORCO – Audrey Mae Adams Hymel, 73, a native of New Sarpy, former resident of Norco for 35 years and resident of Destrehan, died Aug. 16. She was the wife of 34 years of the late Joseph Hymel Jr., and mother of Shirley Jones and Paul Hymel.

She was also the daughter of the late Henry and Sophie Mire Adams, and sister of Irene Lashbrook, Raymond, Stanley, and the late Roland Adams.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren.

She was a past employee at Norco Pharmacy and a former manager for HandiPak.

Services were Aug. 19 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

POSEY

LAPLACE – Justin Tyler Posey, a resident of Luling, died Aug. 14. He was the infant son of Tate and Shay Posey and brother of Devin and Trent Posey.

He was also the grandchild of Michael and Susan Messer and Ginger Danner.

Services were Aug. 18 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.

ROBERTS

LAPLACE – Cleo Johnson Roberts, 86, a native of LaPlace for 21 years, died Aug. 14. She was the wife of the late Floyd Roberts, and mother of Susan Stewart, Judith Smith and Kay Speights.

She was also the daughter of the late Harry Leon and Sadie Chard Johnson.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 15 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at Ruth Cemetery, Ruth, Miss.

SANDERS

RESERVE – Stella Mae Stewart Sanders, 73, a native and resident of Reserve, died Aug. 14. She was the wife of the late Hayward Sanders, and mother of Melissa, Marcia and Patrick Sanders.

She was also the daughter of the late Henry “La Lay” Stewart and Emma Butler, and sister of Alvin “Joe La-Lay and Harry “Soda” Stewart, and the late Albert “Prince” Stewart.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

She ws a former Sunday School teacher.

Services were Aug. 19 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

SCHEXNAYDER

GRAMERCY – Donald Joseph Schexnayder Jr., 53, a native of Paulina and resident of Gramercy, died Aug. 13. He was the son of Lucille Oubre Schexnayder, and the late Donald Schexnayder Sr., and brother of R. Dale, Diane, Dawn and Debra Schexnayder.

Services were Aug. 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.

SULLIVAN

LIONS – Thelma Sullivan, 82, a native of Lions and resident of Reserve, died Aug. 13. She was the wife of the late Joseph Sullivan, and mother of Donna Kendricks, and the late Isiah Sullivan.

She was also the sister of Ruby Daniels, Bessie Davis, Jean Upshaw, Gertrude Patterson, Hazel Saders, Essie Bradford and Michael Daniels, and the late Dixie Daniels.

Services were Aug. 18 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, Lions, with interment at the church cemetery.

WALLACE

RESERVE – John “Trapper” Wallace Sr., 72, a native and resident of Reserve, died Aug. 11. He was the husband by first marriage of the late Marion Lewis Wallace and by second marraige of Patricia Wallace, and father of Debra Millet, Renee Payne, John Jr. and Christopher Wallace.

He was also the son of the late Willie Sr. and Albertha Madere Wallace, and brother of Geraldine Holland, Daphne McClean, Shirley Cambre, Gwendolyn, Evelyn, Ferdinand and Willie Wallace Jr.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Fifth Ward High School and a retired school bus driver.

Services were Aug. 16 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
