ADAMS
BRIDGE CITY – Todd Anthony Adams, 39, a native of Jefferson Parish and rsident of LaPlace for the past four years, died Jan. 18. He was the husband of Stephanie Brown Adams and father of Rachel and Ryan Adams.
He was the son of John Sr. and Jeannette Orgeron Adams and brother of Shelia, John, Keith and Troy Adams.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Catholic Church, Bridge City, with interment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
CARLINO
HAMMOND – Josephine Arcuri Carlino, 93, a resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 18. She was the wife of the late Antonio Carlino.
She was the sister of Lenoa Fioretto, Virginia Bentley, Frances Johnson, Annie Nash, Connie Fudela, Angie Arcuri and the late Josephine Alfano, Lillian Katzel and Charles, Phillip, Emile and Joseph Arcuri and step-sister of the late Sam and Jerome Dibenedetto.
Services were Jan. 20 in the chapel of Harry McNeely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, with interment at Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery.
ENGLADE
LAPLACE – Adele M. Englade, 99, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 17. She was the wife, by first marriage, of the late Elmore Millet Sr. and, by second marriage, of the late Lester Englade; mother of E.J. Millet and Iris Hargroder; and stepmother of Curtis Englade and the late Chesley, Dale and L.J. Englade Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Amelie Jacob Madere and sister of the late Lucette Haydel and Amelie, Clarence, Robert Sr. and Francis Madere.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and a number of step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 20 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
GRANIER
CONVENT – David Mark Granier, 39, a native of Vacherie and resident of convent for 19 years, died Jan. 18. He was the husband of Lisa Bourgeois Granier and father of Aaron, Jacob and Alaina Granier.
He was the son of Margorie Reulet Granier and the late Mark Granier Jr. and brother of Julie Borne, Susan Brown and Michael, Andrew and Russell Granier. He was a plant operator at Air Products and a former employee of Manresa Retreat House.
Services were Jan. 21 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Convent, with interment at the church mausoleum.
JASPER
CONVENT – Lawrence Lee Jasper, 68, a native of Convent and resident of Los Angeles, died Jan. 9. He was the son of the late Peter Sr. and Ophelia Jasper and brother of Odile Williams, Ruth Francois, Dorothy Macklin and Eula, Louis, Peter Jr. and the late Samuel and Charles Jasper.
Services were Jan. 16 at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Convent, with interment at the church cemetery.
LAMBERT
NORCO – Florette Bourgeois Lambert, 89, a native of Lutcher, former long time resident of Norco and resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 15. She was the wife of the late Alcee J. Lambert and mother of Mary Alice Triche, Carole Dupepe, Claire Lowry and the late Janice Walker. She was the sister of Leona and Albert Bourgeois.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 17 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.
LANDRY
BATON ROUGE – David Joseph Landry, 69, a native of Reserve and resident of Baton Rouge, died Jan. 14. He was the husband of Janelle D’Abadie Landry and father of Janette Graff, Karen Huff and Sharon Gremillion.
He was the son of Lucille V. Landry and the late James J. Landry Sr. and brother of Diana Feduccia, Beverly Nesselhuf, Pam Day and Francis and James Landry Jr. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
He was a former pressman for The Advocate in Baton Rouge for 38 years and a U.S. Army veteran.
Services were Jan. 16 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Baton Rouge, with interment at Roselawn Memorial Park.
McCOY
RACELAND – Marilyn Ann McCoy, 47, a native and resident of Boutte, died Jan. 14. She was the mother of Ronald McCoy Sr.
She was the daughter of the Rev. Adam McCoy and sister of Ether Mae Thorne, Debra Nelson, Janet Murrey,
Lisa Williams and Sandra, Adam Jr., Michael Sr., Darren and Dean McCoy.
She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 18 in the chapel of Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, with interment at Sunlight Cemetery, Gheens.
MESSINA
BATON ROUGE – Joseph Lawrence Messina, 100, a native of St. James Parish and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, died Jan. 14. He was the husband of the late Josephine Alello Messina and father of Lillie Neely.
He was the son of the late Nicholas and Lillie Mumphrey Messina and brother of the late Camille St. Angelo and Annie, Angelina and Jack Messina.
He is also survived by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
He was retired from the Exxon Refinery and was a charter member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
Services were Jan. 16 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, with interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
MILLS
NEW ORLEANS – Herman L. Mills, 40, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose for 32 years, died Jan. 13. He was the son of Johnnie Mills Sr. and the late Willie Mae Myles-Mills and brother of Dionne Mills-Smith and Steven, Tyrone, Daryl and the late Johnnie Mills Jr.
He is the grandchild of Anderson and Marvie Bannister.
Services were Jan. 20 at Pressing Onward Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale.
ROUSSEL
GRAMERCY – Carolyn Eliza Goodfellow Roussel, 71, a native of Gordon, Neb., and resident of Gramercy, died Jan. 17. She was the wife of Will Roussel and mother of Lisa Veron, Cathy Luquette, Sue Ellen Jackson and Chris, Ross and Stephen Roussel. She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Agnes Hughes Goodfellow and sister of Camille Weesen and Mary Alice Voss.
She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She attended the University of Colorado and graduated from LSU in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She was a charter member of the St. James Historical Society and the St. James Community Theatre, organist and choir member for more than 20 years and volunteer pianist at the Riverland Health Care Center.
Services were Jan. 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
RUSSO
METAIRIE- Margaret Breaux Russo, 79, a native of Raceland and resident of Destrehan, died Jan. 17. She was the wife of the late Leonard Russo and mother of Theresa Wellman and Debra Russo.
She was also the daughter of the late Edward and Izel Hebert Breaux and sister of Alvin, Whiley and late Mamie Robichaux, Odette Pitre and Elmo, Clinton, Milton and Francis Breaux.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 20 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
SAVOIE
METAIRIE – I. John Savoie, 81, a native of Norco and resident of Kenner for 41 years, died Jan. 17. He was the husband of Nancy Wyman Savoie and father of I. Aaron and Keith Savoie Sr.
He was also the son of Ignace and Agnes Renoudet Savoie and brother of Charles and Marion Savoie and the late Earline Hymel.
He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired district manager for Security Industrial Insurance Co.
He was also active in the Kenner Lions Club, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Services were Jan. 21 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories.
SCOTT
HAHNVILLE – Elsie Lee Scott, 91, a native of Taft and resident of Hahnville for 40 years, died Jan. 14. She was the wife of the late Irby Scott and mother of Leona Jupiter and Alberta and Ernest Scott.
She was also the daughter of the late John Lee and Lottie Alexander.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 17 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Hahnville, with interment at Green Hill Cemetery, Taft.
WAGUESPACK
NORCO – Rudolph A. “Rudy” Waguespack Sr., a native of Lutcher and resident of Norco for most of his life, died Jan. 13. He was the husband of 59 years of the late Enid Waguespack and father of Lydia Hardy and Rudolph “Andy” Waguespack Jr.
He was also the son of the late Maurice and Olive Hebert Waguespack and brother of the late Maurice, Lynn, Hebert and Mercedes Waguespack.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and active in the Knights of Columbus.
Services were Jan. 16 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.
WASHINGTON
PAULINA – Leroy “Nealy” Washington Sr., 66, a native and resident of Paulina, died Jan. 16. He was the husband of Louise Miller Washington and father of Deidra Tuircuit and Leroy Jr., George, Tyrone, Darnell, Cedric Sr. and Jerry Washington.
He was also the son of the late Junius and Minerva Givens Washington and brother of Delores Williams, Ruth Brooks, Lattie Richardson and Morris, Percy, Berman, Ulysses Sr., Charles Sr., Ferdinand Sr. and the late Joseph and Herman Washington.
He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
He was a retired construction worker at Boh Brothers Construction Co.
Services were Jan. 20 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Paulina, with interment at Antioch Cemetery, Paulina.
WILLIAMS
RESERVE – Kitty Williams, 61, a native and resident of Reserve, died Jan. 12. She was the mother of Yolanda Jefferson.
She was also the daughter of the late James and Edna Williams and sister of Viola Telfair, Jessie Smith and Audrey Vinnette, Julia, Ruth, James, Matthew and the Rev. George Williams.
She is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 20 at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Joh Memorial Gardens.
YOUNG
DES ALLEMANDS – Earl Young Sr., 85, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died Jan. 13. He was the father of Mary Chaney, Verna Major and Rosalee, Earl Jr., Joshua and Donald Young.
He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was a retired dragline operator and head deacon emeritus at Antioch Baptist Church.
Services were Jan. 18 at noon at Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands, with interment at Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.
