DUGAS
LULING – Dr. Manuel “Van” Dugas, 45, a native of New Orleans and lifelong resident of Luling, died Dec. 20. He was the husband of Michelle Smith Dugas and father of Laura and Lissa Dugas.
He was the son of Manual Van Dugas and the late Martha Park Dugas, stepson of Linda Dugas and brother of Dr. Robert Dugas.
He was also the grandchild of Helen Dugas.
He was a doctor of veterinary medicine and a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty. He was a graduate of Hahnville High School, Louisiana Tech University and Louisiana State University and was the former owner of Bayou Veterinary Clinic.
Services were Dec. 23 at First Baptist Church of Luling, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery.
FREDERICK
DESTREHAN – Lois Glennon Murphy Frederick, 82, a native of Gretna and resident of Destrehan for 49 years, died Dec. 8.
She was the wife of Lucien Frederick Sr. and mother of Barbara Vittitoe and Patricia, Jeanne, Sharon, Lucien Jr., Raymond, Paul, Mark, William and Joseph Frederick.
She was the sister of Orlando, Thomas and Patrick Murphy.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was the valedictorian of Gretna High School’s class of 1937, a 1941 graduate of Newcomb College and received a certificate in library science in 1972.
She was a former librarian at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic High School, taught adult literacy and prepared tax returns for the elderly.
Services were Dec. 10 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at Gethsemane Mausoleum, St. John’s Patio, Destrehan.
LeSAGE
DESTREHAN – Lillian B. LeSage, 81, a native of Jackson, Miss., and resident of Destrehan for 50 years, died Ded. 20.
She was the wife of the late Richard Edwin LeSage Sr. and mother of Linda Kugler, Nancey Boudreaux and Richard Jr. and Michael LeSage.
She was the daughter of the late John and Helen Ward Bentz.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was a retired registered nurse.
Services were Dec. 21 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.
LEWIS
HAHNVILLE – Gwendolyn Neal Lewis, 61, a native of New Orleans and resident of Hahnville, died Dec. 18.
She was the mother of Deborah Cofield, Nadine Muhammand, Carol Ann Lewis and James Feist Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Rev. Rufus Smith and Zelma Narcisse Neal and sister of Grace Brown, Shirley Harris and Raful Jr., Charles Sr., the Rev. Warren Sr. and the late Cora Neal.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Services were dec. 24 at the Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church, Hahnville, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Metairie.
McCUTCHEON
NORCO – Anna McCutcheon, a native of Norco and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 18.
She was the wife of the late Austin McCutcheon.
She was the sister of Clara Smith and the late Cecelia Peterson and Charlie Jackson.
Services were Dec. 23 at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.
OUBRE
ST. JAMES – Clamonce Cayette Oubre, 93, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 19. She was the wife of the late Wilkerson Oubre and mother of Larry, Clifton, Clinton and the late Wilkerson and Robert Oubre.
She was the daughter of the late Justina Villevaso and Robert Cayette and sister of the late Charles, John, Ruffin, Melton and Paul Cayette.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 21 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.
