ARABIE

HARVEY – Palmyre Oubre Arabie, 87, a native of Vacherie and resident of Gretna for 62 years, died Dec. 17. She was the wife of the late Louis Arabie and mother of Anna Ford.

She was the daughter of the late Onezifour Oubre and Donatile Dempster and sister of the late Antoine Duhe, Liska Fouglora, Rena Baker, Mary Adams and Antoinette Bellanger.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were Dec. 20 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, with interment at McDonoughville Cemetery, Gretna.

BAKER

NEW ORLEANS – Sue Ella Baker, 65, a native of Hazelhurst, Miss., and resident of St. Rose for 33 years, died Dec. 18. She was the mother of Cleopatra Evans, Lori Davis and Angela and Gregory Baker.

She was the sister of Beverly Gayden, Dorothy Wilson and Lillie, Versie, Otis and Jimmy Shannon.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was a retired nurse’s assistant at East Jefferson General Hospital.

Services are today at noon at New Hope Methodist Church, Hazelhurst, Miss., with interment at the church cemetery.

BREAUX

DESTREHAN – Evelina Mary Breaux, 70, a native of Labadieville and resident of St. Rose for 30 years, died Dec. 12. She was the mother of Cynthia, Alvin, Sidney, Milton and Joseph Breaux.

She was the sister of Audrey Roholliard, Dorothy Kennedy and Edward Hamilton.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 18 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at St. Philomena Catholic Cemetery, Labadieville.

DAVIS

NORCO – Karen Davis, 27, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and a resident of Destrehan for several years, died Dec. 14. She was the mother of P.T. and Gene Davis and Skyler Crum.

She was the daughter of Rene Gullion and the sister of William Davis, Amanda Long and Destiney and Brittany Gullion.

Services were Dec. 19 at First Baptist Church, Norco.

JOHNSON

RESERVE – Virginia Johnson, 80, a native of Reckmon and resident of Reserve for 30 years, died Dec. 13. She was the mother of Mamie Norris, Delores Martin, Willie Mae Webb, Yolanda Williams, Shirley Willis and Sandra, Leonard, Ronald, George, Gary and Gregory Johnson.

She is also survived by 47 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Rescue Mission Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

JOHNSON

PAULINA – Warren Michael Johnson, 47, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 14. He was the husband of Maureen Ross Johnson and father of Brandon Williams, Jonathon Nelson, Taleisha Jacques and Shannon and Jared Johnson.

He was the son of Ruby Johnson and brother of Robert and Ricky Ross, Barbara Hall, Elaine Kirklin, Joanne Andrus, Sandra and Lisha, Harry, Gerald, the. Rev. Castor, Tyrone and Carl Johnson.

He was a process operator for Shell/Motiva in Norco, graduated from Lutcher High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Paulina, with interment at Antioch Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

LEE

KENNER – Charles Darrell Lee, 44, a native of Kenner and resident of LaPlace for five years, died Dec. 13. He was the father of Scarlet Pollard.

He was the son of Frances Wren Lee and brother of Deborah Vallaire.

Services were Dec. 19 at Oakland Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at Belgrove Cemetery, Kenner.

PIERRE

EDGARD – Gloria Pierre, 57, a native and resident of Edgard, died Dec. 14. She was the mother of Donna, Vincent and Damian Pierre and the legal guardian of Zedra Charles and Greta and Renata Franklin.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Geraldine Pierre and sister of Rose Morrison, Warren Pierre and the late Mary Ann Franklin.

She is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

POCHÉ

METAIRIE – Dr. Margaret Booker Poché, 77, a native of Mexia, Texas, and resident of St. Rose for 37 years, died Dec. 17. She was the wife of Dr. William Poché and mother of Martha, William and Craig Poché.

She was the daughter of the late John and Estelle Skeffington Booker and sister of Helen Bonebrake and James Booker.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services were Dec. 20 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie.

POCHÉ

MARRERO – Orita G. Johnson Poché, 93, a native of Edgard and resident of Marrero for 60 years, died Dec. 14.

She was the wife by first marriage of the late Herman Johnson Sr. and by second marriage of the late Paul Poché Sr., and mother of Dorothy J. Brantley, Herman Johnson, Nita P. Champagne, Rita P. Richards, Kermath and Sterling Poché and the late Melvin Johnson and Stanford and Paul Poché Jr.

She was the daughter of the late Morel and Charlotte Batencourt Gordon and sister of Orena Hebert and Helmon Gordon.

She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 20 at Morning Star Baptist Church, Marrero, with interment at Young Cemetery, Vacherie.
