FISHER

LAPLACE – Edward “E.J.” “High Pocket” Fisher Jr., 55, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 7. He was the husband of Sandra Squire Fisher and father of Tyronda Gayden.

He was the son of the late Edward Sr. and Evelyn S. Fisher and brother of Joyce and Gloria Bazile, Alma Bailey, Juanita Cook, Lois Webster and Linda, Adam, Dwayne and the late Allen Fisher.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

He was a former employee of B.F. Carvin Construction.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Providence No. 1 Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

GAUTHIER

EDGARD – Noelia Meadoux Gauthier, 77, a native and resident of Lucy, died Dec. 6. She was the wife of the late Elmore Gauthier and mother of Marie and Adam Gauthier Sr.

She was the daughter of the late Louise and Nelson Meadoux and sister of Zenobia Augusta, Pearl Pierre, Alice Miller and Lester and the late Louis Meadoux.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were Dec. 13 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with interment at the church cemetery.

HOYLE

DESTREHAN – Mark J. Hoyle Jr., 20, a native of New Orleans and resident of Norco for 15 years, died Dec. 8. He was the son of Donnie and Tavi Parrett Duhe and Mark J. Hoyle Sr. and brother of Jennifer Parrett and Daneel Duhe Chandler.

He was the grandchild of Joseph and Deann Perrett and Philomene Hoyle and great-grandchild of Mildred Gassen.

Graveside services were Dec. 13 at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.

JONES

LAPLACE – Dorothy Millet Jones, 77, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 7. She was the wife of the late Oscar Jones Jr. and mother of Linda, Shelia, Ronnie and Henry Jones.

She was the sister of Leona Batiste, Augustine Dennis, Claude “Pepper” and Joseph Millet and the late Ceola Payne and Julia, Whitney and Wilbert Millet.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 12 at Providence Baptist Church with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery.

RAYNER

LAUREL, Miss. – Hazel H. Rayner, 79, a native of Mississippi and resident of LaPlace for the past 13 years, died Dec. 10. She was the mother of Lena Hayes and Terrell Yarbrough.

She was the sister of Delores Kerr and Clyde Holifield.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were Dec. 13 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, Laurel, Miss.

SMITH

NORCO – Wallace B. Smith, 67, a native of New Orleans and resident of Destrehan, died Dec. 8. He was the husband of Rosa Hunter Smith and father of Nicole Riley, Tiffany Jones and Carla, Edna and Witman Smith.

He was the son of the late Will and Edna Jackson and brother of Willie Mae Harvey, Yvonne Cooper, Dorice Miles and Irving Smith.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

He graduated from Joseph S. Clark High School and Southern University and he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

He was an adjunct percussion instructor at Southern University.

Services were Dec. 11 at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at Mouton Cove Cemetery, Abbeville.

STIPELCOVICH

METAIRIE – Mary Stella Mule Stipelcovich, 83, a native of Norco and resident of Metairie for 43 years, died Dec. 7. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Stipelcovich Sr. and mother of Carolyn Todd, Diane Carrigan and Nicholas Stipelcovich Jr.

She was the daughter of the late Mary Gulotta and Calogero Mule and sister of Rose Zummo, Faye Zuppardo, Marie Mancuso and the late Josephine Mancuso, Margaret Portera, Catherine Rizzuto and Jack, Peter and Mike Mule.

She is survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

She graduated from Destrehan High School, was a retired bookkeeper for Walker-Roemer Dairy and she worked at Gennaro’s.

Services were Dec. 12 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories.

TRANCHANT

METAIRIE – Gloria L. Tranchant, 77, a native of New Orleans and resident of Destrehan for 14 years, died Dec. 11. She was the wife of Robert Tranchant Jr. and mother of Robert Tranchant III.

She is also survived by three grandchildren.

She was a retired executive secretary with South Central Bell.

Services were Dec. 13 in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Metairie.

VITRANO

NORCO – Eunice Bartet Vitrano, 87, a native of Garyville and resident of St. Charles Parish for most of her life, died Dec. 11. She was the wife of the late Joseph Vitrano and mother of Betty Jo Bourgeois, Margaret Granier and Craig and the late Ronald Vitrano.

She was the sister of Alma McCurnin, Elizabeth Eichner, Laverne Dale, Sylvia Bodenheimer, Phyllis Nowak and John “Jack” Bartet and the late Helen Malanga, Doris Clement, Joan Assunto and Louis Jr. and Hubert Bartet.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 13 at First Baptist Church of Norco, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
