ACKERS

VACHERIE – Alzetta “Tang” Ackers, 91, a native of Lutcher and resident of Vacherie, died Nov. 28. She was the mother of the late Lloyd Ferdinand Jr.

She is survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 5 at Highway Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

AMBROSE

ST. JAMES – Lucille Ambrose, a resident of St. James, died Nov. 28.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, St. James, with interment at Burton Lane Cemetery, St. James. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

BERGERON

HARVEY – Agnes Marie Tregle Bergeron, 82, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Westwego for 65 years, died Dec. 3. She was the wife of the late Albert Bergeron and mother of Marlene Miele.

She was also the daughter of the late Edgar and Argentine Torres Tregle and sister of Raymond Tregle and Shirley Hall.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 6 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

BINET

METAIRIE – Joseph A. Binet, 62, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Charles Parish, died Dec. 4. He was the former husband of Diane Ford Binet and father of Melissa Williamson, Jason and John Binet.

He was also the son of the late Albert Sr. and Leocadie Dominique Binet and brother of Norlarean Ragusa, Claire Creppel, George Binet and the late Sister Mary Ellen, Morgan and Albert Binet Jr.

He is also survived by six grandchildren.

He was a retired Senior Master Chief in the U.S. Navy, where he earned a Combat Action Ribbon, two Vietnam Service Medals and a Joint Service Commendation.

He served as the St. Charles Parish Director of Planning and Zoning, prior to earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans. He then worked as a teacher of English and journalism at Hahnville High School.

Memorial services are today at noon in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

COLEMAN

LAPLACE – Geraldine Coleman, 59, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 28. She was the wife of Edward Coleman Jr. and mother of Charmaine Conners and Darlene, Edward III, Terrel and the late Anthony Coleman.

She was also the daughter of the late Walter and Sylvia Randle Alexander and sister of Delores Johnson, Diana Toles, Carolyn Blunt, Beverly Smith and Joseph, John, Henry, Ernest, Leola and the late Larry Alexander.

She is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

JORDAN

CHALMETTE – Margaret Perniciaro Schubert Jordan, 90, a native of Reserve and resident of St. Bernard Parish for 49 years, died Dec. 4. She was the wife by first marriage of the late Charles Schaubhut, by second marriage of the late Henry Jordan and mother of Joycelyn Poumaroux.

She was also the daughter of the late Pauline Cutrona and Frank Perniciaro and sister of George Perniciaro and the late Mary Naverra, Marie Ebling and Frances, Lucien, Frank, Anthony, Bernard and Dominick Perniciaro.

She is also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was a retired bottle inspector for a cola bottling company.

Services were Dec. 6 in the chapel of Vickers, Verrette and Dornan Funeral Home, Chalmette, with interment at St. Vincent de Paul No. 3 Cemetery.

LeBOEUF

CONVENT – Bernadette Poche LeBoeuf, 97, a resident of Convent, died Dec. 2. She was the wife of the late Collins LeBoeuf and mother of Carol Dupard.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Henrietta Dornier Poche and was also preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

She is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 5 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Convent, with interment at the church cemetery.

MACLOUD

DESTREHAN – Gary J. Macloud, 58, a native of New Orleans and resident for Destrehan for 35 years, died Dec. 2. He was the husband of 34 years of Lorraine Mire Macloud and father of Meredith Gauthier, Karen Morgan and Denise and Trevor Mcloud.

He was also the son of the late Robert Sr. and Emily Guidroz Macloud and brother of Gloria Fox, Julie Palmisano, Emily Miguez, Norma Hinyup, Robert Jr., Edward, Irby and William “Willie” Macloud and the late Barbara Godail.

He is also survived by five grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a retired employee of Shell Oil Co. with 27 years, and a senior training specialist at Orion Refining Corp. in Norco.

Services were Dec. 6 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.

MASON

LAPLACE – Joseph C. Mason Jr., 60, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 3. He was the wife of Audrey Johnson Mason; father of Bridgette Baker, Brian and Courtney Mason; and adoptive father of Carla Morris.

He was also the son of the late Joseph and Martha Jackson Mason and brother of Dorothy Robertson, Vernessa Mitchell, Naomi Davis, Betty Devare, Leroy, Alvin, Cleophas and Jason Mason and the late Verlie Noble and Calvin Mason.

He is also survived by five grandchildren.

He was a longshoreman.

Services were Dec. 6 at Providence Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace.

NEVILLE

RESERVE – Hilda Mason Neville, 75, a native of New Orleans and resident of Reserve, died Nov. 30. She was the wife of Roland Neville Sr. and mother of Stephanie Waters and Roland Neville Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Clarence Mason and Edith Antonia Hall and sister of the late Connie Guerrer.

She is survived by three grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were Dec. 6 at Our Lady of Grace Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

PENWRIGHT

BRIDGE CITY – Ella “Mama Ella” Penwright, 82, a native of Wallace and resident of Bridge City, died Dec. 4. She was the mother of Ruby Moore, Mary Weber, Dorothy Santacruze, Ora Narcisse, Marion Washington, Cecile Miller and Alex and Wilbert Williams.

She was also the sister of Zelda Thomas and Clifford and Wilbert Melton.

She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a retired dietary employee for Southern Baptist Hospital.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at Third Emmanuel Baptist Church, Bridge City, with interment at Providence Park Cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

SMITH

NORCO – Eola “Nenaine” Louise Smith, 92, a native of Gramercy, resident of Norco for 68 years and of LaPlace for six months, died Dec. 4. She was the daughter of the late J. Nash and Maude Louise Wood Smith and sister of

Mark and the late James and Allen Smith and Lettitia “Lettie” Friloux.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Lettie Marie, Henry Jr. and Nash Friloux, Ann Kimball, Jocelyn Monica, Phyllis Martin, Lynn Gonzales, Joy Arcuri and Allen Jr., Jerry and Mark Smith Jr.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

TAYLOR

ST. ROSE – Doretha Johnson Taylor, 82, a native of Good Hope and resident of St. Rose, died Dec. 2. She was the wife of Edward Taylor and mother of Gloria Brown and Emeria, Jacqueline, Lawrence, Karl and the late Edward Jr. and Edward Calvin Taylor.

She was also the daughter of the late Samuel and Viola Johnson and Odelia and Charlie Cooper and sister of Neotha Norris, Hattie Parquet, Beatrice Cheri, Viola Wilson and Lawrence and the late Samuel, Pleasant and Geraldine Johnson.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Fifth African Baptist Church, St. Rose, with interment at St. Rose Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
