LaPlace library has its shortcomings

DEAR EDITOR: I can see it already. I took my granddaughter to the library yesterday to look up books for a project. I told her to call when she was finished. Finally at 6, I went after her. There’s no phone they can use in that big library with all that wasted space? In the middle of nowhere? My daughter was with her, and she mentioned they could move the racks back a little, as they are too close together. The library is beautiful, too bad they couldn’t have spent more money on new books. Also, there was only three computers working to search.

I know some people will think I’m being negative but there is no way kids can go there by themselves or on a bike. Someone has to drive them there, because you know this parish is not going to put sidewalks or connecting roads behind the library. They also need to put labels on the ends of the bookshelves so you can find book numbers without wandering around. The old library was so much better than the new one, more organized and more spread out. What a waste.
