BROWN
GRAMERCY – Mose Brown Jr., 88, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Oct. 8. He was the husband of Mary Miller Brown and father of Rosalie Davis, Josephine Foster, Mose Brown III and the late Odelia Watts and Irvin Brown.
He was the son of the late Mose Sr. and Odelia Jacob Brown and brother of Charles Brown and the late Ethel Ezidore and Grover Hunter.
He is also survived by 65 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at Greater Golden Grove Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
GUIDRY
NORCO – Dulce Matthews Guidry, 70, a native and resident of Norco, died Oct. 7. She was the wife of James Guidry for 51 years and mother of Karen Deroche, Dianne Turner, Patricia Magee, Joan St. Pierre and Michael Guidry.
She was the daughter of the late Hiram and Mercedes Tregre Matthews.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
She was active in many organizations, including United Way, Girl Scouts of America and Norco Women’s Club.
Services were Oct. 10 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.
JOHNSON
ST. ROSE – Harold D. “Stick” “Sonnyboy” Johnson, 68, a native of Marrero and resident of St. Rose for 60 years, died Oct. 7. He was the husband by first marriage of the late Ethel Evans Johnson and by second marriage of Rose Stewart Johnson and father of Lucredia Ingram, Melanie Aubert and Tonya, Molette and Kendrick Johnson Sr.
He was the son of the late Launer Pettis Vinnett and Dixson Johhson and brother of Iola Wooden and Harry Vinnett Sr.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.
He attended St. Rose public schools and Kenner High School, was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for Delta Airlines for 35 years and Marriott Inflight Service for 15 years.
He was also a 33rd Degree Mason and Worshipful Master of Aaron Lodge No. 66 and served as deputy inspector general for the state of Louisiana. He was also a member of the World Wide Church of God.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, St. Rose, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
JOSEPH
LAPLACE – Alfred “Billy” Joseph Sr., 48, a native of Reserve and resident of Alabama, died Oct. 4. He was the husband of Tangie Schnyder Joseph and father of Sara, Alfredesha, Alfred Jr. and Billy Joseph.
He was the son of Sally Joseph and brother of Emma Gomez, JoAnn Byers, Salle Mae Lightell and Edgar, Etienne Jr. and Michael Joseph.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
He was a 1972 graduate of Leon Godchaux High School and was a sales associate for UJ Chevrolet in Mobile, Ala.
Memorial services are today at 11 a.m. at New Wine Christian Fellowship, LaPlace.
LOUVIERE
GRAMERCY – Lloyd Paul Louviere, 62, a native of Convent and resident of Gramercy, died Oct. 9. He was the husband of Mary Jane Louviere for 38 years and father of Karen LaBauve, Kathy Bourgeois and Kevin, Keith and Kenny Louviere.
He was the son of Noelie Louviere and the late Oril Louviere Sr. and brother of Nelson, O.J. and Morris Louviere.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retired from BellSouth and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club.
Services were Oct. 11 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
MANEY
NEW ORLEANS – Paul Maney Jr., 85, a native of Convent and resident of New Orleans for most of his life, died Oct. 5. He was the husband of the late Marie Philips Maney and father of Alice Allen and Barbara Philip’s.
He was the brother of Thelma Carlos, Dorothy, George and Melvin Maney and the late Eulia Schmidt, Eunice Laboue and John Maney Sr.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 10 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at St. Vincent No. 2 Cemetery, New Orleans.
ROBERTSON
HOUSTON, Texas – Aline Walker Bergeron “Mamalean” Robertson, 94, a native of St. James Parish, former resident of New Orleans and resident of Houston, died Oct. 5. She was the mother of the late Melvin Bergeron.
She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services are today at 10:30 a.m. at The Warren Chapel at St. Dominic Village, Houston, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
SORINA
RESERVE – Alfreda Touchard Sorina, 85, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace, died Oct 4. She was the wife of the late Edwin Sorina and mother of Sylvia Webb, Loyce Lennix, Iris Turner, Ann Pate and Edwin Sorina Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Louis and Laura Hains Touchard and sister of Thelma Barthe, Laura Armant, Doris Jackson, Lorraine Jones, Louis Touchard and the late Louise Howard and Joseph and Anaise Touchard.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
Services were Oct. 11 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery, New Orleans.
STEIB
SOUTH VACHERIE – Joseph Herbert “Sa-Son” Steib, 103, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Oct. 7.
He was the husband of the late Josephine Grow Steib and like a father to Rosalind Solomon Baldauf.
He was the son of the late Eugene and Arta Laurent Steib and brother of the late John, Ellis and Lagard Steib.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, South Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
