COLEMAN
NEW ORLEANS – Ophelia Brown Coleman, 82, a native of Edgard and resident of New Orleans for 65 years, died Aug. 13. She was the wife of Willard Coleman and mother of Carol Johnson and Barbara Simms.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was a retired licensed practical nurse.
Services are today at 9 a.m. at Union Bethel A.M.E. Church, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
GORDON
NEW ORLEANS – Israel Gordon Jr., 64, a native of Edgard and resident of New Orleans for 47 years, died Aug. 8. He was the companion of Debra Sterling; father of Deddie Jackson, Kessia Dunn Warren and Danielle Shelby; and stepfather of Arionne, Darrel and Dariel Sterling, Marlyn and Joan Ross, Mark and Versie Dunn and Ralph, David, Joseph and Overton Ross Jr.
He was the brother of Veneda Gaylord, Geraldine Boudboin and Thomas, James and Senius Gordon.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
He was a maintenance machine operator for the University of New Orleans.
Services were Aug. 16 in the chapel of Tilly’s Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.
LeBLANC
DONALDSONVILLE – David Alan LeBlanc, 53, a native of Vacherie and resident of Donaldsonville, died Aug. 13.
He was the husband of the late Annette Gates LeBlanc and father of Karen and Emily LeBlanc.
He was the son of Flora Cabb LeBlanc and the late Ray J. LeBlanc Sr. and brother of Ray Jr. and Kevin LeBlanc.
Services were Aug. 16 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, with interment at the church mausoleum.
RILEY
LUTCHER – Steven Riley Jr., 19, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Aug. 9.
He was the son of Steven Sr. and Darlene Francois Riley and brother of Danelle Riley.
He was the grandchild of Houston Sr. and Ruth Francois and Clarence Riley and Rudy Gordon and the great-grandchild of Virginia Gordon.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at First Community Antioch Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.
THERIOT
DES ALLEMANDS – Robert “Bob” Paul Theriot, 59, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Luling, died Aug. 13.
He was the husband of Kathy O. Theriot and father of Brad Theriot.
He was the son of the late Ernest Sr. and Lola Duplantis Theriot and brother of Ernest Jr., Quentin, Tommy and Phillip Theriot.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were Aug. 16 at Des Allemands Baptist Church, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale.
WINFIELD
NEW ORLEANS – Dorothy Mae Wilson Winfield, 74, a native of St. James Parish and resident of New Orleans for 59 years, died Aug. 10. She was the wife of the late Arthur Winfield and mother of Geraldine Paige, Claudette Marshall, Genevieve Edmonson, Betty Battiste and Dianne, Earline, Lawrence and Roger Winfield.
She was the sister of Willie Mae Winfield. She is survived by 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchldren.
Services were Aug. 15 at Law Street Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.
