COX
NORCO – Dayne “Mac” Calvin Cox, 56, a native of New Orleans; former resident of Paradis, Jefferson Parish and Puerto Rico; and resident of Lantaina, Fla., for seven years, died July 11. He was the son of David Cox and the late Joy Chatman Cox and brother of Ruth Cox.
He is also survived by nieces, Bobbi Schexnayder, Belinda Chatman, Wendy Abate, nephew, James Estay Jr., and six great-nieces and eight great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his niece, Gail Champion.
He was a graduate of Hahnville High School and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Master Pilot for Tide Water Marine Inc., Otto Candies Inc. and Black Hawk Shipping I nc.
Memorial services are today at 7 p.m. in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco.
CRAIN
FRANKLINTON – Amy Talbert Crain, 94, a native of East Feliciana Parish, former resident of LaPlace and Franklinton and resident of Clinton, died Aug. 5. She was the wife of the late Donies Crain.
She was the daughter of the late Louis and Florence Jackson Talbert and sister of Edna Smith and Eunice, Delos and the late Owen, L.P. and Hardy Talbert.
Services are today at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, with interment at Ellis Cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
LUMAR
EDGARD – Claudel “Geechie” “Shomp” Lumar Sr., 70, a native of Edgard and resident of Pointe-A-La-Hache for 33 years, died July 31. He was the husband, by first marriage, of the late Helen Bradford Lumar and, by second marriage, of Augustine M. Lumar; father of Sylvia Frank, Kim Smith, Angela Heard, Constance Varnall and Claudel Lumar Jr.; and stepfather of Phyllis, Wayne, Lori and Ronald Matthews.
He was the son of the late Otis and Sylvanie Lumar; stepson of the late Ophelia Lumar; and brother of Joyce Marquez, Yolanda Miller, Louise Bovie, Lorenza Simmons and Otis Jr., Vernon and Charles Lumar Sr.
He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was a retired crane operator for Electrocoal Terminal.
Services were Aug. 5 at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment at Young Cemetery, Edgard.
MABILE
LAPLACE – Enola Lemoine “Lala” Mabile, 89, a native of Gramercy and resident of LaPlace for 85 years, died Aug. 5. She was the wife of the late John J. Mabile and mother of Juanita Tamplain.
She was the daughter of the late Amelius and Ida Delhommer Lemoine and sister of the late Lillian, Apoline, Odele, Onita and Linsley Lemoine.
She is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were Aug. 6 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
PACK
GRAMERCY – Alma Cooper Pack, 89, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of Gramercy, died Aug. 1. She was the wife of the late Albert Pack and mother of Dixie Jackson and the late Joyce and Albert Pack.
She was the daughter of the late Johnny Sr. and Josephine Gilliard Cooper and sister of Johnny Cooper Sr. and the late Augustine Brown, Orelia Johnson, Earline Lovette and Robert, Alexander Sr. and Lloyd Cooper.
She is also survived by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
She was a retired registered nurse. She graduated first in her class at Mercy Hospital’s nursing school, worked at Charity Hospital in the 1930s and at Mercy from 1937-1975.
Services were Aug. 4 at Greater Golden Grove Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher.
PARRINO
METAIRIE – Bessie Coppenex Parrino, 89, a native of Lutcher and resident of Metairie for 71 years, died Aug. 4. She was the wife of the late Anthony Parrino and mother of JoAnn Wilsey and Joseph Parrino.
She was the sister of Mattie Cali and the late Pearl Parent and Grace Millet.
She is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were Aug. 6 at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, Metairie, with private interment.
ROME
PAULINA – Theresa Mollere Rome, 100, a native of Central and resident of Lutcher for 80 years, died Aug. 2. She was the wife of the late Charles Rome; mother of Charles Rome Jr.; and stepmother of Olga Lambert, Viola Babin and the late Velma Martin and Leland and Lester Rome.
She was the daughter of the late Adam and Valentine Webre Mollere. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
She is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were Aug. 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.
