COFFMAN

CHAUVIN – Sterling Francis Coffman, 46, a native of Jennings and resident of Luling, died July 12. He was the the father of Sarah Coffman.

He was the son of Florence LeBlanc Coffman and brother of Kathleen Gordon and Ray and Aubert Coffman.

He was a registered nurse and former owner of River Region Home Health Services. He attended Ottawa University in Kansas City and graduated from Nicholls State University. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the New Orleans and River Region Chamber of Commerce and the Louisiana Associatiion of Business and Industry. He was past president of the Louisiana Nursing Poltical Action Committee and advisory board member of the Home Care Association of America.

Services were July 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chauvin, with interment at the church cemetery.

DUMAS

MARRERO – Hayward Joseph Dumas, 73, a native of Vacherie and resident of Marrero, died July 11. He was the husband of the late Florence Robinson Dumas and father of Carolyn Rancifer and Brenda and Ronald Dumas.

He was the son of the late Paul and Rose Osborne Dumas and brother of Wilberine Steib, Mary Freeman, Victorine Simon, Celeste James, Leo Paul, Whitney, Anthony and Russell Dumas and the late Agnes Wooden and Harry and John Dumas.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were July 16 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Marrero, with interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, South Vacherie.

MONTZ

GRAMERCY – Ollie W. Montz, 89, a native of Remy and resident of Gramercy, died July 11. She was the wife of the late Wallace Montz and mother of the late Wallace “Punkin” Montz.

She was the daughter of the late Whitney and Alice Walsh and sister of Graci Rivault and Lester and Grant Walsh.

She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were July 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

MYLES

BRIDGE CITY – Frank “Poppa Frank” Myles, 89, a native of Vacherie and resident of Marrero, died July 9. He was the father of Frank Myles Jr. and Trini, Louis and Lelia Gant.

He was the brother of Aline Myles.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at Third Emanuel Baptist Church, Bridge City, with interment at Carrollton Cemetery, New Orleans. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
