BECNEL

SOUTH VACHERIE – Aurelise Folse Becnel, 84, a native and resident of Vacherie, died June 1. She was the wife of the late Abel Becnel Jr. and mother of Mary Lee Troxclair and Bruce and the late Earl Becnel.

She was the daughter of the late Louisey and Lutetia Marse Folse and sister of Beatrice Matherne, Royaley Folse and the late Mack Folse and Elodie Stein.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were June 3 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, South Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

DUET

LULING – Cyreaque L. “C.J.” Duhe Jr., 82, a native of Larose and resident of Luling, died May 31. He was the husband of the late Enola Dufrene Duet, father of Mary Leblanc and Dorothy Duhe and uncle of the late Claude Trosclair Jr.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cyreaque Duet Sr.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Services were June 3 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling.

JASMIN

EDGARD – Bernetta Favorite Jasmin, 69, a native and resident of Edgard, died May 30. She was the wife of the late Rasby Jasmin, mother of Troy Jasmin and stepmother of Pamela Simon.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Virginia Favorite and sister of Vivian Chopin, Shirley Grows, Marion Lewis, Anna Lewis, Leotha Perkins, Geradine Boose, Margaret Henderson and Josephine, Larry, C.J. and the late Bernice, Mary Ann, Joseph Sr. and Samuel Favorite Jr.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were June 3 at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment at Second Baptist Church Cemetery, South Vacherie.

JONES

LAPLACE – Elma Jones, 81, a native of Bunkie and resident of LaPlace for 45 years, died June 3. She was the wife of the late Charles “Buck” Jones and mother of Charles, Philip and Sheriff Wayne L. Jones.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MATHERNE

HARVEY – Doris Sophie Matherne, 81, a native of Convent and resident of Harvey, died June 1. She was the mother of Gloria Weber and Richard Matherne.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were June 3 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, with interment at Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna.

NAQUIN

LULING – Betty Ann Naquin, 66, a native of Garyville and resident of Luling for 41 years, died May 31. She was the wife of the late John Naquin and mother of Jill Savoie, Charlene Chiasson and Darren Naquin.

She was the daughter of the late David and Armantine Oubre Klibert and sister of Dorothy Roussel and the late Harold, Lloyd and Allen Klibert.

She is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services were June 3 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling.

SEEMANN

METAIRIE – Claire Marie Seemann, 97, a native of Taft and resident of Metairie, died June 1. She was the wife of the late Karl Seemann and mother of June Cunningham and Kenneth Seemann.

She was the daughter of the late William and Emma Schmidt and sister of Juliette Kain.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were June 4 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

STEWART

ST. ROSE – Henry “Son” Stewart Jr., 78, a native of St. Rose and resident of Winnfield, died June 1. He was the son of the late Henry Sr. and Rose Ella Rasseau Stewart and brother of Velma Tumblin, Willie Mae Donald, Juanita Joseph, Rose Johnson and James and the late Herbert, Lincoln and Guy Stewart.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, St. Rose, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

TAMBURO

BATON ROUGE – Tony S. Tamburo, 92, a native of Monroe, former resident of LaPlace and resident of Baton Rouge, died May 30. He was the husband of the late Audry Simms Tamburo and father of Sally Allen and Janie Barre.

He was the brother of Frank Tamburo. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

He is also survived by six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was a retired employee of Louisiana Power & Light in LaPlace.

Services were June 3 in the chapel of Greenoaks Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, with interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park.

WAGUESPACK

LOCKPORT – Harris A. Waguespack Jr., 88, a native and resident of Lockport, died June 1. He was the husband of Mae Degruise Waguespack and father of Mary Welmer of Morgan City, Evelyn Dupuy of Luling and Janet Owens of Luling.

He was the son of the late Harris Sr. and Josephine Melancon Waguespack and brother of Annie and Marion Waguespack and the late Gleo LeCompte and Anna Mae McClain.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Lockport, member of the Lockport Volunteer Fire Department and retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development after 30 years.

Services were June 4 at Holy Saviour Catholic Church, Lockport, with interment at the church cemetery.
