BECNEL

BATON ROUGE – Effie Weaver Becnel, 92, a native of St. Rose and resident of Baton Rouge, died April 28. She was the wife of the late Herman M. Becnel and mother of Sherry McWillie and the late Wanda Mestayer and Marilyn Phillips.

She was the daughter of the late Robert and Tess Weaver and sister of Nell Ayme.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were May 3 in the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, with interment at Roselawn Memorial Park.

CAMPBELL

METAIRIE – Lee Pope Campbell, 89, a resident of LaPlace, died May 1. He was the husband of the late Ella Schuerer Campbell and father of Ella Lee Bench and Louise Pope Campbell.

He was the brother of Lena Mae Watson and Newton Lee Campbell Jr.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

He was also the long time companion of the late Jeannette Sixkiller, her children, Lola Butler and Jerry Sixkiller, and her grandchild.

Services were May 2 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston.

GROWS

EDGARD – Neyer Anay Grows, 19, a native of Edgard and resident of LaPlace, died April 27. She was the daughter of Walter Jr. and Ivy Grows and sister of Keyana and Neyana Grows. She was also the companion of Patrick Hollins.

She was the grandchild of Alfred Sr. and Coralee Songy and Walter Sr. and Gloria Grows and great-grandchild of Orena Herbert.

She was president of the 2001 senior class at East St. John High School and attended Dillard University, where she studied business and art management. She worked at Burlington Coat Factory as a saleswoman.

She was also well-known as a mural and portrait artist, with murals on display at Leon Godchaux Junior High and East St. John High School.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

JONES

GRAMERCY – Sandra “Marie” Clark Jones, 57, a native of Gramercy and resident of New Orleans, died April 25. She was the the mother of Tasha, Joseph and Craig Jones.

She was also the daughter of Eddie and Berthella Mack Clark and sister of Barbara Woods, Beverly Collier, Joyce Clark, Charles Kirklon and the late Ronald Clark.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Golden Grove Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.

KLIEBERT

LAPLACE – Betty “Lois” Kliebert, 68, a native of Morgan City and resident of LaPlace for the past 25 years, died April 26.

She was the wife of the late Eno Kliebert Sr. and mother of Debra LeBlanc, Denise Pitre, Joann Stevenson and Suzanne, Lena, Eno Jr., Kevin, Edwin and the late Dana Kliebert.

She was the sister of Maggie Boudreaux and Charles, Cyril and Herbert Billiot.

She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were May 3 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

WOOD

LAPLACE – Patricia Norlin Wood, 83, a native of Chicago and resident of LaPlace for 36 years, died May 1. She was the wife of Marion Russell Wood and mother of Russell “Chip” Wood.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were May 3 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace.
