AUCOINDRESNER

NEW ORLEANS – Inez Webre Dresner, 79, a native of Garyville and resident of New Orleans for 58 years, died April 15. She was the wife of the late Meyer Dresner.

She was the daughter of the late William and Antonia Duhon Webre and sister of Carl, Clyde and Rodney Webre and the late Minnie Brady, Edna Mae Madere and Guy, Alvin and Donald Webre.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at Metairie Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

GOUDIA

VACHERIE – Felton Goudia, 54, a native of Vacherie and resident of Wallace, died April 12. He was the father of Chanell Brown, Bethany Lovett, Jayvon Louis, Chad Hilaire and Anthony and Felton Goudia Jr.

He was the son of Yvonne Walker Goudia and the late Irvin Goudia and brother of Marsha Reed and Gwendolyn, Dale, Kernell, Virgil, Glenn, Trench and Dale Goudia.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services were April 17 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

JONES

NEW ORLEANS – Priscilla Mae Batiste Jones, 75, a native of Wallace and resident of New Orleans for 54 years, died April 15. She was the wife of Alvin Jones Sr. and mother of Denise, Frederick, Dennis and Alvin Jones Jr.

She was the sister of Pamela Davenport and Calfrey Jones.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was a retired assistant custodial supervisor for the Orleans Parish public school system.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at James Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Woodville Missionary Baptist Cemetery, Wallace. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

LaBOUE

NEW ORLEANS – Eunice Maney LaBoue, 82, a native of Convent, former resident of Houston for 40 years, and resident of New Orleans for eight years, died April 13. She was the sister of Thelma Carlos and Dorothy, Paul, George and Melvin Maney.

Services were April 19 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent.

LAICHE

LAPLACE – Clay M. Laiche Sr., 93, a native of Paulina and resident of LaPlace for 80 years, died April 14. He was the husband of the late Rosalie Kugler Laiche and father of Glenda Reynolds and Maurice, John, Daniel and the late George Laiche.

He was the brother of Regina Edler and the late Cecile Theard, Ione Milioto and Iber, Warren, Adolph, Alcest and Anne Laiche.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were April 18 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

MATHERNE

GARYVILLE – Sidney John Matherne, 87, a native of Paulina and resident of Garyville for 58 years, died April 16. He was the husband of 61 years of Lisa Tassin Matherne and father of Gloria Tamplain, Noreen Champagne, Patty Baker and Douglas, Phil, Allen and Sidney Matherne Jr.

He was the son of the late Charles and Leonie Tamplain Matherne and brother of Eunice Miller, Elise Zeringue, Gertrude Walker, Inez Blank, Elsie Cambre and the late Adam, Joseph and Charles Matherne Jr.

He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.

He was a retired welder at Shell Oil Refinery, Norco, where he worked for 24 years.

Services were April 19 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

NORRIS

MARRERO – Hortense Welch Norris, 78, a native of Crosby, Texas, and resident of Luling for 30 years, died April 17. She was the wife of Melvin Norris and mother of Barbara Sassin and Ronald Norris.

She was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Lamb Welch and sister of Earline Harmon, Robert and R.V. Welch and the late Lee Sanders and Winfred and William Welch.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were April 19 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at White Cemetery, Highlands, Texas.

PERDUE

HARVEY – Keith Anthony Perdue Sr., 42, a native of New Orleans and resident of Ama for 11 years, died April 15. He was the husband of Beatrice Plauche Perdue and father of Gregory Armond, Michelle Griggs and Keith Perdue Jr.

He was the son of Jacqueline Ferrari Perdue and the late Kenneth Perdue Sr. and brother of Kevin and Kenneth Perdue Jr.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were Apri 18 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, with interment at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale.

ROME

DES ALLEMANDS – Lester Paul Rome, 61, a native of Wallace, former resident of Des Allemands and resident of Bayou Gauche for the past 14 years, died April 12. He was the husband of Claudia Rome and the father of Tara Rome.

He was the brother of Bertha Breaux, Diane Bourgeois and Eugene, Joe, Ronald, Donald, Wayne, Gary and Larry Rome.

Services are today at noon at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m.

SAVOIE

LULING – Gerald “Blue” Savoie Sr., 70, a native of Houma and a resident of Luling for 45 years, died April 15.

He was the husband of Marlene Clulee Savoie for 45 years and father of Hope Wester, Denise Blocker and Gerald Jr., Cory and the late Ken Savoie.

He was the son of the late Hilbert Sr. and Ezar Savoie and brother of Gary, Dot and the late Hilbert Jr., Norma, Roland and Gloria Savoie.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was a retired superintendent at T.L. James Construction Co.

Services were April 18 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling.
