Business center to hold workshop

BATON ROUGE – The LSU Small Business Development Center, a unit of the Louisiana Business & Technology Center, and SCORE, the Service Corps of Retired Executives, will host a workshop Thursday titled “Financing Your Small Business: SBA Loans and Other Resources.”
The workshp will begin at 8 a.m. in Room 1119 of the LSU College for Engineering and Business Administration building, or CEBA.
Various speakers will be featured, such as Jim Allen, Regions Bank’s senior vice president for commercial lending; Mike Williams, director of resource services for the Louisiana Economic Development Corporation; and Sean LeBlanc, acting state rural development coordinator for the Louisiana office of USDA Rural Development.
Topics to be discussed include small business commercial lending, state loan programs, venture capital and USDA Business and Industry Loan programs.

The Louisiana Business & Technology Center was created in 1988 as a joint venture between LSU, the Greater Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce and the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority.
It is a department of LSU’s E.J. Ourso College of Business Administration and is composed of three units: the Small Business Incubator, the LSU Small Business Development Center and the Louisiana Technology Transfer Office.
