ALBERT

PAULINA – Warren Albert Sr., 61, a native and resident of Lutcher, died March 9. He was the husband of Sarah Moore Albert and father of Alma Walter, Catherine Rainey, Terry and Claudia Albert, Leashonda and Helen Adams and Warren Jr., Joseph and Kerry Albert.

He was the son of the late Johnny Jr. and Georgina Johnson Albert and brother of Lillian Landry, Helen Smith, Barbara, Joseph, Johnny III, Junius and Clarence Albert and the late Eva Mae Michael and Lawrence Albert.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church, Paulina, with interment at Antioch Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.

DAIGLE

METAIRIE – Shirley Carbon Daigle, 87, a native of New Orleans and lifelong resident of Destrehan, died March 11. She was the mother of Donald and Arnaud Daigle.

She was the sister of Rosemarie Bergeron and Bernard Carbon.

She is also survived by four grandchildren.

She was a retired cosmetics sales representative.

Services were March 13 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at St. Roch No. 1 Cemetery.

DILAPI

LAPLACE – Valerie Lynn “Miss Val” DiLapi, 51, a native of Long Island, N.Y. and resident of LaPlace for 16 years, died March 11. She was the mother of Brian and Michael DiLapi.

She was the daughter of Robert and Barbara Diesenberg, stepdaughter of Virginia Diesenberg and sister of Jean Marie Hofstetter, Maureen Deegan, Frances Peckham and Curt, Stephen, Scott and Paul Diesenberg.

She was a teacher for the St. John the Baptist Parish public school system.

Memorial services were March 14 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace.

FRILOUX

KENNER – Cecile Patrick Friloux, 80, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose for 55 years, died March 11. She was the wife of the late Louis Friloux Sr. and mother of Gale and Louis Friloux Jr.

She was the daughter of the late Ralph Sr. and Marie Crochet Patrick and sister of Chester Patrick and the late Alice Beals, Thelma Delauniville and Ralph Jr., Earl Sr. and Herbert Patrick.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and was preceeded in death by one great-0000grandchild.

Services were March 14 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kenner, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.

LAMBERT

DESTREHAN – Evan J. Lambert Sr., 87, a native and resident of St. Rose, died March 11. He was the husband of Louise Williams Lambert and father of Evan, Robert and Ronald Lambert.

He was the brother of Bernice Montz.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were March 14 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church cemetery.

MADERE

KENNER – Berrenise Vicknair Madere, 84, a native of Reserve and resident of Kenner for 56 years, died March 13. She was the wife of the late Lester Madere and mother of Joann Hainey, Lester and Ralph Madere and the late Althea Swanson and Jacqueline Madere.

She was the daughter of the late Edward and Aurora Vicknair and sister of Lucille Landry, Yolande Thibodeaux, Edna Reine, Ruby Binning, Ruth Buckner, Miriam Hymel and the late Lesian Waguespack, Dorothy Marchand, Audrey Borne and Edward Vicknair Jr.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are today at noon in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kenner. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

MITCHELL

HAHNVILLE – Irvin “Scobbie” Mitchell Sr., 71, a native of Lucy and resident of Luling, died March 9. He was the husband of the late Audrey Mae Perry Mitchell and father of Marsheila Smith, Jennifer Johnson, Kathleen Rainey and Nina, Oliska, Irvin Jr., Brett, Ernest and the late Alvin Mitchell.

He was the son of the late Richard and Sedonia Woods Mitchell and brother of Georgina Stipe and the late Mildred Mitchell and Clay August.

He is also survived by 26 grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

ROUSSEL

GRAMERCY – Melanie Eva Ory Roussel, 81, a native of Convent and resident of Gramercy, died March 12. She was the wife of Edgard Roussel Jr. and mother of Stephany Bourgeois, Melissa Manning and Dawn and the late Dean Roussel.

She was the daughter of the late Vincent Sr. and Claudia Rossat Ory and brother of the late Isis Wisneski and John Sr. and Vincent Ory Sr.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

She was a WAC veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant. She was later a beautician.

Services were March 15 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

ROUSSEL

PAULINA – Thelma St. Pierre Roussel, 93, a native of Grand Point and resident of Lutcher, died March 14. She was the wife of the late Olide Roussel.

She was the daughter of the late Ozeme and Eulalie Louque St. Pierre and sister of the late Claudia Martin, Linda Pollet, Eva Bourgeois, Gladys LeBlanc and Rene, Donald, Lawrence and Linace St. Pierre.

Services were March 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.

TREGRE

METAIRIE – Vincent Joseph Tregre Jr., 76, a native of Reserve and resident of Metairie, died March 13. He was the husband of Irene Miller Tregre and father of Jeff Tregre and Amy Dempsey.

He was the brother of Natalie Vicknair, Jackie Mire and Bobby and Beverly Tregre.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Metairie, with interment at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery, Metairie. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.

TUREAUD

RIVER RIDGE – Alexander Tureaud, 77, a native of Convent and resident of Kenner, died March 8. He was the father of Rebecca Moten, Karen Jenkins, Mary Johnson, Sondra Jackson, Phyllis and Wayne Tureaud and Stacey, Jerilyn, Dexter, Kenneth and Alvin Varmall.

He is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at Richardson Funeral Home Inc., River Ridge, with interment at Belgrove Cemetery, Kenner. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.

WILLIAMS

DES ALLEMANDS – Katie “Tut” Williams, 86, a native of Madison County, Miss., former resident of New Orleans and resident of Luling, died March 10. She was the mother of Johnnie Cager, Katie Irvin and Patricia, Emma Jean, Percy, Bobbie Jean and the late Samuel Williams.

She was the daughter of the late Johnny and Aggie Flora Shaw and sister of Mattie Collins, Patsy, Aggie, Johnnie Mae and William Shaw and the late Geraldine Temple, Rosie Lee Haywood, Drucilla McClendon and James and Brefa Shaw.

She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands, with interment at Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

WOODS

VACHERIE – Wilson “Joe” Woods Jr., 70, a native and resident of Vacherie, died March 9. He was the husband of the late Rose Annie Jessie Woods and father of Rose Marie Jessie, Cleona Bethancourt, Jane Dorris and Nellie, Judy, Doretha, Rebecca and Preston Woods.

He was the son of the late Wilson Sr. and Cleona Louis Woods and brother of Altas Woods and the late Francis Keller, Mary Isom and Harry, Hymel and Amos Woods.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, South Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.
