BOURGEOIS

DESTREHAN – Charles Chanel Bourgeois, 74, a native of Paulina and resident of Destrehan, died Feb. 16. He was the husband of Marjorie Williams Bourgeois and father of Edna Redman and William Ray Bourgeois.

He was the son of the late Edgar and Louisiana Brignac Bourgeois and brother of Patricia Thompson and Ferrell, Malvin, Pershing the late Robert, Irving, Ivy and Garland Bourgeois.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

He was a retired instrument technician at Cytec.

Services were Feb. 19 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.

CHABAUD

PAULINA – John Lynn Chabaud, 49, a native of New Orleans resident of Lutcher, died Feb. 15. He was the husband of Donna Giardina Chabaud and father of Jamie and Jason Chabaud.

He was the son of Hickley and Margaret Poche Chabaud and brother of Ronnie, Mike and Kevin Chabaud.

Services were Feb. 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.

DUETT

MARRERO – Marie Louise Louviere Duett, 82, a native of Union and resident of Westwego, died Feb. 15. She was the wife of the late Leo W. Duett and mother of Evamae Champagne and Leo N. and Charles “Buddy” Duett.

She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Odeide Webre Louviere.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were Feb. 18 in the chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, Westwego.

FALES

TAFT – Dora Sapia Fales, a resident of Luling, died Feb. 14. She was the mother of Chelsea Ann Fales and Shannon and Billy Gordon.

She was also the daughter of the late Henry and Emma Dominick Sapia and sister of Ruth George and Henry and Jerry Sapia.

Graveside services were Feb. 19 at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft.

GROWS

EDGARD – Ellis “Twenty-Seven” Grows Sr., 49, a native and resident of Edgard, died Feb. 15. He was the husband of Constance Edwards Grows and father of Ellis Jr., Tyler and J’Marrco Grows.

He was the son of the late Louis and Cora Grows and brother of Amelia Narcisse, Eloise Stockman, Dorothy Smith, Eula Mae Narcisse, Annie Mae Populus, Francis Williams and Evelyn, Walter Sr. and Lawrence Grows Sr.

He was a welder at Avondale Shipyard.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

KLEINSCHMIDT

LAPLACE – Lorraine Hymel Kleinschmidt, 76, a native of LaPlace, former resident of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for the past three years, died Feb. 16. She was the wife of George Kleinschmidt.

She was the daughter of the late Thomassin and Bertha Madere Hymel and sister of Etienette Dufresne, Leona Braud and the late Hilda Nunn, Josephine Brady, Edith Bourgeois, France Madere and Odette, Paul, Etienne, Lionel and Jules Hymel.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MARTIN

PAULINA – Della Joseph Martin, 88, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of Lutcher, died Feb. 8. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Martin Sr., mother of Margie Young, Doris Bowser, Donna Barker and Adeline, Jeanette, Joyce, Larry, Tyrone, Warren, George and the late Lawrence Martin Jr. and stepmother of Brenda Scott and Calvin Hayes.

She was the daughter of the late Celestin and Adeline Clement Joseph and sister of the late Enola Stewart and Henry Sr., Celestin Sr., Charlie, Freddie and Aristede Joseph.

She was also survived by 37 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 18 at King Triumph Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Antioch Cemetery, Paulina.

MEYNARD

DESTREHAN – Donna Patricia Matherne Meynard, 41, a native of Luling and resident of Destrehan, died Feb. 18. She was the wife of Alan Meynard and mother of Alaina Meynard.

She was the daughter of Roger and Barbara Boudoin Matherne and sister of Amy Simoneaux, Susan Gaubert and Cindy, Todd, Craig, Vince and Brett Matherne.

She was also the granddaughter of Mercedes Boudoin.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

MILLER

METAIRIE – Felicie Matherne Miller, 74, a native of St. James and resident of Metairie for 46 years, died Feb. 13. She was the wife of Ronald Miller and mother of Tricia Shaheen and David Miller.

She was the sister of Audrey Anderman, Claire Chifici and Fred and Steven Matherne.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 16 in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Hope Mausoleum.

PETROLIA

NORCO – Bernadette Hebert Petrolia, 75, a native of Choctaw and resident of Norco for 47 years, died Feb. 16. She was the wife of the late Paul Petrolia and mother of Wanda Courville, Nancy Bounds, Jaynell Wilder and Richard, Melvin, Troy and the late Gerald Petrolia.

She was the daughter of the late Adam and Julie Sanchez Hebert and sister of Helen Cambre.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 18 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

ROGERS

LAPLACE – James Lester “Jim” Rogers, 17, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 15. He was the son of Dr. Wayne and Sharon Rogers and brother of Lucy Rogers.

He was the grandchild of James and Kathleen Rogers and Lester and Lucille Karm.

Memorial services are Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 8 a.m. Thursday.

VING

NEW ORLEANS – Charlie “Charlie Creek” Ving, 93, a native of Lucy and resident of New Orleans for 80 years, died Feb. 10. He was the husband of Lucille Smith, father of Janice Gray and stepfather of Clarence Catherine.

He was the brother of Florence Williams.

He is also survived by one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

He was a retired employee of Southern Regional Laboratory.

Services were Feb. 17 at Majestic Mortuary, New Orleans, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
