BABIN

PAULINA – Inez B. Babin, 90, a resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 22. She was the wife of the late Joseph Babin and mother of Joyce Trosclair, Betty Richard, Emilie Keller, Inez Tucker and Stanley, Verada and the late Margie, Michael and Joseph Babin Jr.

She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

BREAUD

VACHERIE – Roy A. Breaud Sr., 76, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Jan. 24. He was the husband of Hilda Babin Breaud and father of Gwen Lewis, Jan Granier, Connie Simon and Roy Jr., Clay, Wayne and Randy Breaud.

He was the brother of Rosa Waguespack, Edwin Breaud and the late Claire Schexnayder and Alfred Breaud Jr.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, one step-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild.

He was a retired oil distributor, founding member of the Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of the St. James Parish School Board.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MILLER

EDGARD – Joseph White Miller, 73, a native and resident of Edgard, died Jan. 23. He was the son of the late Norah and Marie Bartholomew Miller and brother of the late Lola Herbert, Dorothy Brown and Wilfred Miller.

He is survived by nieces and nephews.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MONTZ

LAPLACE – Edna Mae Vicknair Montz, 80, a native and resident of Reserve, died Jan. 24. She was the wife of the late Eddie Montz and mother of Irene Weber, Mary Geerken, Sheila Oubre, Janelle Gregus and Michael and Gerald Montz.

She was the daughter of the late Amelius and Eusela Vicknair and sister of Thelma Bourg, Beatrice Lasseigne and the late Hilda Labat and Francis Vicknair.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

RUBIN

HAHNVILLE – Joseph “Pap” Rubin, 65, a native of Opelousas and resident of Hahnville, died Jan. 20. He was the husband of Sonia Burrell Rubin and father of Gilda Davis, Renea Jackson and Dwayne and Todd Rubin.

He was the brother of Josephine Samuel, Annie Francois and Agnes Rubin.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

He was a retired technician from Union Carbide in Taft.

Services were Jan. 24 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery in Taft.

SIMON

HOUMA – Ethel Waguespack Simon, 95, a native of Vacherie and resident of Houma, died Jan. 22. She was the wife of the late Aubin Louis Simon and mother of Norman and Jerry Simon.

She was the daughter of the late Raymond Sr. and Delphine Waguespack and sister of the late Aline Hubbell, Virginia Hubbell, Cecile Gaudet, Odile Rome, Helena Simon, Lillian Gaudet and Lea, Raymond Jr., Renee, Laurent and Clarence Waguespack Sr.

She is survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 25 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Houma, with interment at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery, Houma.

VINNETT

KENNER – Lloyd Leroy Vinnett, 49, a native of St. Rose and resident of LaPlace for four years, died Jan. 19. He was the father of Nathaniel Jones and Keah and Marlon Vinnett.

He was the son of Deloris Pollard and Lloyd Vinnett; stepson of Dorothy Vinnett; and brother of Loretta Davis, Cathy, Carla, Lillian, William and Kebbins Pollard and Dorothy, Ethel, Lucille, Sonja and Wayne Vinnett.

He is also survived by his grandfather Marlon Vinnett and one grandchild.

He was a graduate of Destrehan High School, a U.S. Army veteran and a truck driver.

Services were Jan. 25 at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at St. Rose Cemetery.

ZERINGUE

MARRERO – Phidelise Ann Schexnaydre Zeringue, 82, a native of Destrehan and resident of Taft, died Jan. 23. She was the wife of 57 years of J. Leonard Zeringue and mother of Winona Champagne, Joan Robbins, Lynette Tamplain and Leonard, Robert, Edmond, Anthony, Douglas and Marten Zeringue.

She was the daughter of the late Marie Clorinne Troxclair and Francois Schexnaydre and sister of Palmire Mateja, Thomas and Urban Schexnaydre, Isabelle, Clorine and Helen Zeringue and the late Dora Zeringue and Francois Schexnaydre.

She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Visitation starts at 9 a.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Marrero.
