DOUGLAS

NEW ORLEANS – Sarah Ophelia Douglas, 87, a native of Centerville and resident of LaPlace for 84 years, died Jan. 11. She was the mother of Josephine Davis and Linda Boyd.

She was the sister of Nellie Love, Julia Stack, Ida Mae Jones, Lillie Brister and Rosia Lee Boyd.

She was a retired restaurant owner and cook.

Services were Jan. 17 at New Hope Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Centerville.

JOHNSON

NEW ORLEANS – Halley Johnson Jr., 55, a native of Convent and resident of Destrehan for 22 years, died Jan. 10. He was the husband of Patricia Johnson and father of Marie Parker; Bernadette House; Jeanette and Dewayne McFarland; Velvet Anderson; Earlene Thompson; Michelle, LaTonya, Jason, Randall and Durell Polk; and Demetra, Tammy, Angela, Halley IV and Brandon Johnson.

He was the brother of Gloria Dean Cross, JoAnn Perkins, Beverly Galloway, Diane Ekental, Prince Davis, Isaac Cross and Albert, Johnny and James Jefferson.

He is also survived by 39 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was a self-employed cement finisher.

Services were Jan. 16 in the chapel of D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent.

LOUQUE

LUTCHER – Ulysse J. “Baba” Louque Jr., 69, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of Gramercy, died Jan. 16. He was the husband of the late Mary Alice Louque and father of Michael Louque Sr.

He was the brother of Ruth Accardo, Florence Accardo, Alice Bourgeois, Hilda Roussel and Manuel Louque.

He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Lutcher, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MASSEY

NEW ORLEANS – Joseph Massey, 92, a native of St. John the Baptist Parish and resident of New Orleans for many years, died Jan. 10. He was the brother of Samuel Massey.

He is survived by four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 18 at St. David Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, New Orleans.

MICHAUX

NORCO – Donald L. Michaux, 63, a native of Chicago, former resident of Biloxi, Miss., and resident of Montz, died Jan. 15. He was the husband of Teresa Michaux and father of Dominique Webber.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 17 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.

POCHE

PAULINA – Willie “Bill” Poche, 80, a native of Convent and resident of Gramercy, died Jan. 16. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Blank Poche and father of Chery Laiche, Barbara Tarina, Pamila Boudreau and Randy and the late Kenneth and David Poche.

He was the brother of Lillian Raffery and Herbert Poche. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery.

RICHARDS

NORCO – Bobby Williams Richards Sr., 49, a native of Sturgis, S.D., and resident of Luling, died Jan. 15.

He was the father of Bobby Richards Jr. and Shannon Guarino.

He was the son of the late Cleo and Mary Donaldson Richards, stepson of Doris Richards and brother of Francis Marie Verenese, Ann Miller, Billy Rae Richard, Kathy Bordelon, David Richards and Joe, Danny and Larry Gantt.

He is also survived by five grandchildren.

He was the owner of Bobby’s Body Shop and B&W Collision.

Services were Jan. 18 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

ST. PIERRE

KENNER – Westley Joseph St. Pierre, 80, a native of Lucy and resident of Destrehan for 51 years, died Jan. 17.

He was the husband of Vivian Anne Schexnaydre St. Pierre and father of Yvonne Pollet, Margaret Weber, Elise Chauvin and James G. “Jimmy” St. Pierre.

He was the son of the late Elodie Berthelot and Maurice St. Pierre Sr. and brother of George and Jean Baptiste St. Pierre and the late Melba Messina, Josephine Galloway, Cecile Hattier and Edmond, Denis, Roger, Leopold, Albin, Richard, Maurice Jr. and Rose St. Pierre.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services are today at noon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Kenner, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

SCHEXNAYDER

VACHERIE – Robert Joseph Schexnayder Sr., 99, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Jan. 15.

He was the husband of the late Evelie Rome Schexnayder and father of Stella Hartenstein, Hilda Simon, Frances Constant, Alice Waguespack, Shirley Goben and Richard and Robert Schexnayder Jr.

He was the son of the late Philadelph and Evela Borne Schexnayder and brother of Ethel Simon, Laurence Atkinson and the late Cecile Barker and Edgar, Amedee, Edward and Francis Schexnayder.

He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were Jan. 18 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.

WILLIAMS-HERBERT

NEW ORLEANS – Vidilia Clouden Williams-Herbert, 78, a native of Convent and resident of New Orleans for many years, died Jan. 13.

She is survived by three grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 18 at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery.
