Galland named 2002 chair of River Parishes Council

LAPLACE – Lily Galland, community relations director for Shell Chemical Norco, was recently named 2002 chair of the River Parishes Council of the New Orleans Regional Chamber of Commerce at the council annual meeting.

Galland replaced Randy Noel of REVE, Inc. and he cited the biggest accomplishment of his tenure as the Interstate 49 forum.

“The I-49 forum, meetings with the parish presidents and business associations were definitely our biggest accomplishments this year,” Noel said. “Our strategic plan has begun and I look forward to an active year with our new chairperson, Lily Galland.

“The River Parishes Area Council has become more visible in the communities in our area.”

Galland added, “We will move this region forward, we have to work together by staying focused on the issues.

“Any organization is only as good as its members and our 2002 Executive Committee is enthusiastic and focused on moving the River Parishes forward.”

The incoming 2002 vice chair is Angela Todaro of Todaro and Associates. She replaced Galland as vice chair.

Dupont Company; Gail Kelley, St. Charles Consulting; Bo Lewis, Marathon Ashland Oil; Toni Meyer, River Parishes Travel; Edie Michel, St. James Parish; Dennis Murphy, LA Technical College; Randy Noel, REVE, Inc.; Lisa Phillippi, Cingular Wireless; Julia Remondet, St. John the Baptist Parish; Doug Rhodes, Entergy Corporation; Bill Sellars, Berger Financial Group; Ann Tatje, Latter & Blum; and Merrill Waulet, Community Bank.

At the annual meeting, awards were presented to Noel, Phillippi, Meyer, Dufrene, Kelley and Cashio for their dedication to the River Parishes.
