BRYANT
LAPLACE – Davon Monique Bryant, 5, a native and resident of Norco, died Dec. 26. She was the daughter of Alfred Jr. and Aisha Bryant Anderson and Willie Thomas and sister of the late Aljeron and Arielon Anderson.
She was the grandchild of Elaine Anderson and Delores Cryer and great-grandchild of Elizabeth Mitchell.
Services were Jan. 5 at New Home Full Gospel Ministries, LaPlace, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
DUFRENE
DES ALLEMANDS – Josephine Touchard Dufrene, 95, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Raceland, died Jan. 4. She was the wife of the late Albert Dufrene and mother of Earline Gaudet and Terry and Roland Dufrene.
She was the daughter of the late Felix and Lucia Matherne Touchard and sister of the late Felix and Roy Touchard.
She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 7 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, with interment at the church cemetery.
ENGLADE
RESERVE – Ernestine Hahn Englade, 93, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Reserve, died Jan. 4. She was the wife of the late George Englade and mother of Audrey Maurin.
She is also survived by two grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Services were Jan. 5 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
FOLSE
SOUTH VACHERIE – Ferdinand Nicholas “Ferdie” Folse, 91, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Jan. 6. He was the husband of the late Olena Falgoust Folse and father of Dorothy Chiasson and Adam and Ernest Folse.
He was the son of the late Alexander and Seraphine Matherne Folse and brother of Viola Tregre, Louis and O’neil Folse and the late Eunice Stein, Vinia Tregre, Cleonie Dempster and Harris, Early, Oledo, Clarence and Elphege Folse.
He is survived by eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.
Services were Jan. 8 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, South Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.
GREENLEE
LAPLACE – Jason John “Sug” Greenlee, 24, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Chalmette and resident of LaPlace for nine years, died Jan. 4. He was the son of Barry Greenlee and Eva Odom Thibodeaux, stepson of Andy Thibodeaux and brother of Tina Daigre and Melissa Henry.
He was the grandchild of Margaret Greenlee and the late John Greenlee and Mavis Foster.
Services are today at noon at Living Way Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
HILLIARD
NEW ORLEANS – Ceola Smith Hilliard, 91, a native of St. James Parish and resident of New Orleans for 84 years, died Dec. 29. She was the mother of Leona Henderson, Celoa LaCroix and Elenora Johnson.
She was the sister of Idelle August, Betty Celestine and Albert Smith Jr.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 7 at Gloryland Mt. Gillion Baptist Church, New Orleans, witn interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
LANDRY
NORCO – Odelia Marie Webre Landry, 88, a native of Montz and resident of Norco, died Jan. 5. She was the wife of the late Lionel Landry and mother of Eve Pollet, Leona Loupe, Avis Landry, Doris Rizutto, Patrick Landry and the late Jeril, Lionel Jr. and Louis Landry.
She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Eve Marie Vicknair Webre and sister of Beatrice Abate.
She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were Jan. 8 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.
<strong>LONG
PAULINA – Georgeann Robinson Long, 57, a native of New Orleans and resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 3. She was the wife of Gilliard Long Sr., mother of Mitchell Robinson, Edward III, Shannon and Damon Johnson, Cody and Gilliard Long Jr. and stepmother of Betty Foster, Gale Preston, Barbara Webster and Isaac Franklin.
She was the daughter of the late George and Eva Johnson Robinson and sister of Paulette Jones and Diance, Connie, Kelly, George, Paul, Andrew and David Robinson.
She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery.
MATHERNE
PAULINA – Lillie Mae Bunch Matherne, 89, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 5. She was the wife of Nolan Matherne and mother of Barbara Caldarera, Wanda Oubre and Glenn and Ronald Matherne.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Noelie Baudry Bunch and sister of the late Ruby Mancuso and Clarence, Lawrence, Lester, Robert, Willie, Norris and John Bunch and an infant sister.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.
PETERS
DESTREHAN – James “Mr. Pete” Peters Jr., 76, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of St. Rose for 31 years, died Dec. 30. He was the husband of Mae Alma Armant Peters, father of Gail Turner, Danielle, Anthony and Darrell Peters and stepfather of David Adams.
He was the brother of Genieve Williams, Elizabeth Jackson, Ethel Polite, Ruby Sweeper, Charlie Peters and Roy Peterson.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 4 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, St. Rose.
RAMSEY
METAIRIE – Charles “Chuck” Ramsey, 59, a native of Portsmouth, Ohio, and resident of St. Rose, died Jan. 3. He was the father of Teresa Six, Trinnie Kos and Kelly Ramsey.
He is also survived by five grandchildren.
He was a truck driver for Welling Co.
Memorial services were Jan. 6 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie.
SHORTS
LAPLACE – Robert Shorts, 56, a resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 2. He was the husband of Audrey B. Shorts and father of Tremane Shorts.
He was the son of the late Ellis Sr. and Mary Shorts and brother of Orelia Victor, Odessa Joseph and Cardell and Elbert Shorts.
Services were Jan. 8 at The New Home Full Gospel Ministries, LaPlace, with interment at Montz Cemetery, Montz.
