ALLEMAND
HAHNVILLE – Milton Joseph “Boy” Allemand Sr., 76, a native of Westwego and resident of Killona, died Dec. 28. He was the husband of Josephine Tregre Allemand and father of Aleta Schexnayder, Peggy Robichaux and Rachel, Milton Jr. and Norbert Allemand.
He was the son of the late Noah and Agnes Arabie Allemand and brother of Lulu Mae, Noah Allemand and the late Gladys Becker.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Services were Dec. 31 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft.
ANDERSON
LAPLACE – Aljeron Anderson, 3, and Arielon Anderson, 2, natives and residents of Norco, died Dec. 26. They were children of Alfred Jr. and Aisha Bryant Anderson and siblings of the late Davon Bryant.
They were grandchildren of Elaine Anderson of Norco and the late Alfred Anderson Sr. and Ronald and Ruby Bryant. They were also great-granchildren of Elizabeth Mitchell of LaPlace and the late Daniel Mitchell.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Home Full Gospel Ministries, LaPlace, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
BRIGNAC
CONVENT – Percy Mark Brignac, 69, a native and resident of Convent, died Dec. 30. He was the husband of Betty Puccio Brignac and father of Paula Marino.
He was the son of the late Gaston and Lucrece St. Pierre Brignac and brother of Pearl Hymel, Dorothy Louviere and Rodrick, Patrick, Bruce and Roy Brignac.
He is also survived by two grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a volunteer firefighter.
Services were Jan. 2 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Convent, with interment at the church cemetery.
DAVIS
GRAMERCY – David I. Davis, 84, a native and resident of Gramercy, died Dec. 29. He was the son of the late Stark and Julia Landry Davis and brother of Marian Boudreaux, George Davis and the late Leslie Donadieu, Janice Singletary and Charles and Stark Davis.
Service were Dec. 31 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
FAUCHEUX
VACHERIE – Rose Marie Faucheux, 81, a native of Wallace and resident of Vacherie, died Jan. 2. She was the daughter of the late Severin and Lelia Schexnayder Faucheux and sister of Olga Dufresne.
She was a retired school teacher for St. Charles and St. James parish public school districts. She was also a charter member of Court St. Philip No. 1504, Catholic Daughters of America and served as an officer for more than 50 years.
Services were Jan. 4 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.
FRANCOIS
LAPLACE – Donna Marie Francois, 43, a native and resident of Reserve, died Dec. 28. She was the daughter of Aldonia Francois and the late Coruelious Francois Jr. and sister of Gail King, Linda King, Debra Alexis, Marlene Watkins and Carnell, Stefoin, Marion, Frankie Sr., Dannie, Donald, Rodney and the late Cornelious Francois III.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, LaPlace, with interment at Montz Cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
LOVE
MT. AIRY – Kendrick Wendell “Rat” Love, 27, a resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 23. He was the father of Kennika Love.
He was the son of Federick Scott and Bobbie Love Gomez, stepson of Hazel Scott and Leo Gomez, brother of the late Harlow and Jermond Love and Collins Gomez and stepbrother of the late RaShad, Jamar and Derrick Williams.
He was the grandchild of the late Freddie and Rebecka Scott and Ernest and Delores Love.
He was an operator at Russell Stanley Corp.
Services were Dec. 31 at St. Mark Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, with interment at Eastern Cemetery, Lutcher.
MADERE
LAPLACE – Raymond Madere, 81, a resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 30. He was the husband of Ida Mae Millett Madere and father of Lydia Ocmand, Mary Lynn Jacob, Jimmy Ray and Craig Madere.
He was the brother of Marie Duhe and Bowens Ayme.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 2 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
McCURDY
BRIDGE CITY – James W. McCurdy, DDS, 74, a native of Garyville and resident of Marrero, died Dec. 30. He was the husband of Gayle Hebert McCurdy and father of Linda Aycock and James Jr., Edward and Michael McCurdy.
He was the son of the late Hugh and Germaine McCurdy and brother of Paula Wall and Hugh McCurdy Jr.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 2 at Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Bridge City, with interment at Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna.
McKINNEY
NORCO – James Howard McKinney, 69, a native of Nashville and resident of Norco, died Jan. 2. He was the husband of Florine Cheatham McKinney and father of Kimberly Willey and James McKinney.
He was the son of the late Farris and Margaret McKinney and brother of Lois Carmouche, Clifford McKinney and the late Clara Cato and Allene Simms.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
Masonic services were Jan. 4 at First United Methodist Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.
MIRE
UNION – Laure Marie Mire, 102, a native of Central and resident of Gonzales, died Dec. 31. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Adine Melancon Mire and sister of Amelie Nobile and the late Regina Hymel and Aline, Edith, Lydia, Clothile, Adela and Clovis Mire.
She is survived by six nieces and four nephews.
She was a retired clerk at Hymel Grocery Store with 60 years of service.
Services were Jan. 2 at St. Mary Chapel, Union, with interment at the church cemetery.
MIXON
LIONS – Marion Johnson Mixon, 53, a native of Garyville and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 25. She was the mother of Tammy Taylor, Tanya Mixon and Tracie Miles.
She was the sister of Delores Tanner, Mary Phillips, Albertha Vickers, Beverly Mixon and Dovie, Karl and Willie Johnson.
She is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 3 at the DuPont Employee Recreational Facility, LaPlace, with interment at Zion Travelers’ Cemetery, Lions.
MORRIS
BOUTTE – The Rev. Dave “Booster” Morris Jr., 85, a native of Killona and resident of Luling, died Dec. 27. He was the husband of the late Elnora Williams Morris and father of Rebecca Jenkins, Bernadette Mott, Evelyn Jefferson and Jacklin White.
He was the son of the late Dave and Rose Morris and brother of the late Patricia Downing and Curtis, Roland, Lloyd Sr. and Joseph Morris.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
PLAISANCE
BATON ROUGE – Clifford Joseph Plaisance, 71, a native of Convent and resident of Baton Rouge, died Dec. 30. He was the husband of 50 years of Jacqueline Arnould Plaisance and father of Helen, Louise, Philip, William, Robert and Camille Plaisance.
He was the son of the late Prosper and Esther Plaisance and brother of Eunice Laurent and Leo “Dick,” Larry and the late Nolan Plaisance.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Services were Jan. 2 in the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, with interment at Resthaven Garden of Memories.
PRICE
Ora Mae Price, 74, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 30. She was the sister of Lee Moore.
Services were Jan. 4 at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery.
ROBISKIE
VACHERIE – Earl C. “Cree” Robiskie, 86, a native of Edgard and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 28. He was the husband of Romalie Robiskie and father of Wesleia Trench, Calvin Sr. and Eugene Adams and Ann, Arleen and Eileen Robiskie.
He was the son of the late Ernest and Odelia Robiskie and brother of Alma Roussell, Raymond, Walter and Donald Robiskie and the late Wilberine Landreaux and Ernest and Wilbert Robiskie.
He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
TATE
AVONDALE – Freddie L. “Pop” Tate, 78, a native of Welcome and resident of Avondale for 70 years, died Dec. 31. He was the husband of Regina Washington Tate and father of Brenda Simmons.
He was a retired Avondale Shipyard welder and a founding member of Little Zion Baptist Church. He was the founding member of Pride of Waggaman No. 42 Scottish Rite and Daughters of Waggaman No. 49. He served as Most Worshipful Master from 1952 to 1990 and served as grand marshal for the United Most Worshipful St. John Grand Lodge AF&AM.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Little Zion Baptist Church, Avondale, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale.
