Alcohol compliance sting operation nets eight

HAHNVILLE – A recent check of convenience stores through undercover operatives in St. Charles Parish produced eight citations.

Also, the end-of-the-year sweep identified a number of stores who did comply with the law against selling alcoholic beverages to juveniles.

The following misdemeanor citations were issued:

• Caren B. Owen, 35, 110 Amelia St., Destrehan. Clerk at E-Z Serve, 13470 River Road, Destrehan.

• Ayunta Warren, 19, 197 Melius Drive, Reserve. Clerk at Pardner’s, Boutte.

• Tasha Washington, 24, 155 Riverview Court, LaPlace. Clerk at Jiff’s Petroleum, Luling.

• Tanika Williams, 26, 155 Riverview Court, LaPlace. Clerk at E-Z Serve, 12325 River Road, Luling.

• Randall Muller Jr., 17, 322 Alice St., Ama, Clerk at Sammy’s Tackle Box, 14252 U.S. Highway 90, Boutte.

• Barbara Dufrene 33, 137 Fonseca Lane, Des Allemands. Clerk at Champion’s, 14130 U.S. Highway 90, Boutte.

• Nhat Tien Ha, 19, 252 Beaupre Drive, Luling. Clerk at Cart N Carry, 15226 U.S. Highway 90, Paradis.

• Kieu My Thi Nuynh, 22, 13737 N. Lemans St., New Orleans. Clerk at Ren Sun Market (Sunny’s), 16830 U.S. Highway 90, Des Allemands.

Sheriff Greg C. Champagne commended the employees at the following stores who refused to sell alcoholic beverages to juveniles during this undercover operation:

St. Rose – Holmes Food Mart, Circle K, Jack’s Beverages, Riverbend Truck Stop, Rose’s Food Store, St. Rose Travel Center, Racetrac and Kwick ‘N’ Fast.

Norco – Holmes Food Mart No. 4 and Holmes Food Mart No. 11 and Cart n Karry.

Paradis – Ann’s Quick Stop, E-Z Serve and Racetrac.

Hahnville – E-Z Serve and Holmes No. 2.

Luling – E-Z Serve, Jubilee Chevron, Holmes Food Mart and Circle K.

Ama – Jeff’s Petroleum.

Boutte – Gator Stop.

Destrehan – E-Z Serve, Holmes Food Mart, Cash ‘N’ Carry, Family Food Store and Circle K.

New Sarpy – Holmes Food Mart.

Montz – Harry’s One Stop.
