“Children in the Middle,” a free parenting workshop for parents of children in separating families, (session one of two) is from 2-4 p.m. at the St. John Parish County Agents Office, 151 E. Third St., Edgard. The focus of the workshop will be coparenting, stress management and communication. The workshop consists of two two-hour classes, session two will be on Sept. 7 at the same time and location. Call 497-3260 to register.

Riverlands SPCAs Grandpaws Attic sale takes place at 2840 W. Airline Highway, second floor, in LaPlace. Household items, crafts, toys, books and furnishings will be sold. Red Cross community CPR course takes place at 6:30 p.m. at River Parishes Hospitals Community Education Center, 502 Rue de Sante, Ste. 309 in LaPlace. Participants will be certified in infant, child and adult CPR upon completion of the course. Class size is limited to 14 persons per class.
