Kern River Valley Community Charities volunteer race organizers kept the annual Personal Watercraft Race on Isabella Lake alive for the eighth year, after losing long-time sponsor SCE. All proceeds go to local charities including Meals on Wheels, Kern Valley Search & Rescue and Kern Valley High School scholarships. More than 50 local businesses helped with sponsorship to keep the event afloat. “If not for the community, you couldn’t even come close to holding this race,” said event chairman Randy Zurn.
