EDGARD – Della M. Louper Borne, 58, a native and resident of Edgard, died June 30. She was the former wife of Ralph Borne Sr. and mother of Collette Jackson, Nakia, Joshua and Desmond Louper and Ralph Jr., Ellington and Jeffery Borne.She was also the daughter of Alexis and Beatrice August Louper and sister of Marion Pierre, Vivian Miller, Ann Johnson, Lona Shaw, Daniel and George Louper and the late Rita Fobb and Keith Louper.She is also survived by 10 grandchilren, two step-grandchildren and one step-greatgrandchild.Services were July 6 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.COOK
Colbert Cook Sr., 68, a native of Tylertown, Miss., and resident of LaPlace for the past 36 years, died July 1. He was the husband of Mae Verdon Cook and father of Caroll Faucheaux and Colbert Jr., George and Richard Cook.He was the brother of Flossie Mason. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.He was a minister and elder at LaPlace Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses and a retired owner of Cooks Vinyl Repair.Memorial services were July 4 at LaPlace Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, LaPlace.DURONCELAY
LAPLACE – Evelyn Brown Duroncelay, 66, a native of Houma and resident of LaPlace for many years, died July 2. She was the wife of Paul Duroncelay and mother of Jacinta Galmore and Kay, Victor, Martin and Terrance Duroncelay.She was also the daughter of the late Ben and Olivia Fitch Brown and sister of Ethel Hayes and Johnell Duroncelay.She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchilden.Services were July 6 at Providence Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.EDWARDS

She was the mother of Mary Champagne, Maxine Bell and Antoine, Arthur, Walter Sr., Antoine and Frances Edwards.She was also the daughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Adrianne Pye Edwards and sister of Florence Borne, Dorothy Bold, Agnes Johnson, Josepha Gauthier and Ernest Jr., Henry, Raymond and the late Richard and Mitchell Edwards.She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Services were July 5 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.FERCHAUD
DONALDSONVILLE – Willie Ferchaud Sr., 75, a native of St. James and resident of Donaldsonville, died July 3. He was the husband of Yvonne R. Ferchaud and father of Ava Cantrelle, Deborah Stewart and Kathy, Aleta, Willie Jr., Kenneth and Hyram Ferchaud.He was also the son of the late Eugene and Mathilda Ferchaud and brother of Marline Southerland and Emma, James and the late Maybel, Effie, Gertrude, Celeste, Eugene Jr., John and Kern Ferchaud.He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired operator with St. James Sugar Co-Op.Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, with interment at St. James Catholic Cemetery, St. James.FORSYTH
GRAMERCY – Russell Francis Forsyth, a native of Paulina and resident of Gramercy for 48 years, died July 3. He was the son of the late Brooks Sr. and Louise Brignac Forsyth and brother of Myrtis Sherman, Ethel Kraus, Virgin Deroche, Noemie St. Pie0re and the late Brooks Jr. and Norman Forsyth.He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiree from Colonial Sugars and lifetime member of the St. James Boat Club.Services were July 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.HOBDY
GARYVILLE – Willie Hobdy, a resident of Vacherie, died July 4. He was the husband of Ann Hobdy and father of Janice, Sharon, Willie Sam, Kwanda Evans, Arthur Wallace, Lucille King and Willie Dese.He was also the son of the late Lucille Hobdy and brother of Beatrice, Henry, Desire, Milton and the late Vivian Philip.He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Services are today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Baloney Funeral Home, Garyville, with interment at Second Baptist Cemetery, Vacherie. CHALMETTE – Laura Steib Mohr, 88, a native of Vacherie, former resident of New Orleans and resident of Chalmette, died July 3. She was the wife of the late Clarence Mohr and mother of Frank Trapane Jr. and the late Mary Lang.She was also the daughter of the late Landreaux and Laura Landry Steib and sister of the late Neil and Landreaux Steib.She is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Services were July 6 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Chalmette, with interment at St. Vincent de Paul No. 3 Cemetery.MORRIS

She was the wife of the late Walter Morris and mother of Laura Aly, Beverly Williams, Gloria Stockman, Brenda Batiste, Dorothy Johnson and the late Dolores Morris.She was also the daugther of the late Victorian and Priscilla Gordon Shepperd and sister of Mercedes Fountain, Blanche Foucher and Ellau Shepperd and the late Hazel, Lawrence, Cleveland, Alex, Alice, Elouise, Fabolia, Elnora and Joyce Shepperd.She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment at Young Cemetery, Edgard. She was the wife of the late Cleveland Parquette Sr. and mother of Dari Ann Ursin, Kathleen Johnson, Denise Pittman and Janice, Cleveland Jr., Joseph, Ronal>, Roland, Nathaniel and the late Jimmy and Hilton Parquette.She was also the daughter of Felicia Johnson and the late Julius Jones, stepdaughter of the late Edward Johnson Sr. and sister of Viola Bejole, Oscar Sr., Frank Sr. and Elton Johnson and the late Thelma Wallace, Earline Hansley, Rose Lee Brown, Edward Jr., Alex Sr., James Sr. and Fred Johnson.She is also survived by 36 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Services were July 6 at New Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher. RESERVE – Julie M. Haydel Roussel, 47, a native of Garyville and resident of Reserve for 26 years, died July 3. She was the wife of Paul M. “Doona” Roussel Jr. and mother of Lori and Hallie Roussel.She was also the daughter of Eva Mae Kliburn Haydel Casey and the late Paul Haydel and sister of Fay Shields, Joy Guidry, Debra Riger, Juliet Templet and Wendy Kliebert.She was an employee of Ondeo NALCO.Services were July 6 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

LULING – Richard “Dick” Wright Sr., 96, a native and resident of Luling, died July 2. He was the husband of the late Elnora Nutsey Markey Wright and father of Dorothy Boyd and Alvin “Bubbie,” Lionel, Richard Jr. and Leon “L.T.” Wright.He was also the son of the late Mann and Melvina Wright.He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren.Services were July 6 at St. Mary Baptist Church, Luling, with interment at the church cemetery, Boutte.
