Gray, White will marry in July

Patsy and Lee Gray announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Laura Jane Gray of Amite, to John Scott White of LaPlace, son of Shirley and John M. White of Creston, Iowa. The couple plan to marry July 21 at the Amite-Arcola Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Lawyer officiating. A reception will follow the ceremony at Claire’s. The bride-elect is a graduate of Oak Forest Academy and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and was also a member of Phi Mu sorority. She is a CPA, employed as an accounting manager at the firm of Lee Gray, CPA, in Amite. She is also the granddaughter of the late Bertha and A.W. “Pete” Miller, Norma Gray Davis and Henry Gray. The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Riverside Academy and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received a bachelor of science degree in coaching and sports administration. He is employed by Riverside Academy. He is the grandson of the late Nancy and Robert Dew and Clara and John J. White. Following a honeymoon trip to Disneyworld, the couple will reside in Amite.
