Patricia and Keith Torres of LaPlace announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Nicole Michelle Torres of LaPlace, to Richard Daniel Brown of LaPlace, son of Robin Smith of Monahans, Texas, and the late Richard Brown. The couple plan to marry July 20 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve, with the Rev. Pat Sanders officiating. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Home in Norco. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erling LeBlanc of Destrehan and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Torres of Norco. She is a 1998 graduate of East St. John High School, currently attends Nicholls State University and is employed by Carmouche Jewelers of Metairie. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Havens and the late Mr. and Mrs. Brown. He is a 1995 graduate of Monahans High School in Monahans, Texas, and is employed by Paint Pros of LaPlace.
