HAHNVILLE – Alcide Joseph Laurent, 83, a native of Taft and resident of Hahnville, died May 6. He was the husband of 60 years of Frances Falgout Laurent and father of Susan Arcement and Karen Bradberry.He was also the son of the late Alcide and Laure Laurent and brother of Rita Zeringue and Audrey, Sidney, Julius, Ursula, Harold and the late Sebastian Laurent.He is also survived by five grandchildren.He was retired from the Bank of St. Charles and from the position of executive director of United Way of St. Charles.Services are May 10 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery in Taft. He was the husband of Gladys Keller Lowry and father of Michael, Thomas, John and Allen Lowry.He was also the son of the late Richard and Corrine Ruler Lowry and is survived by two sisters and four brothers.
