WIGGINS, Miss. – Albert Orin Austin Sr., 62, a native of Montour Falls, N.Y., and resident of LaPlace for two years, died March 14. He was the husband of Florence Gail Hopkins Austin and father of Brenda Wilson, April Perry, Heidi Armstrong and Kelly and Albert Austin Jr.He was also the son of Virginia Austin Snow and the late Albert Lewis Austin and brother of Dorothy Theile, Billie Saurage, Howard Austin, Ernest Snow and the late Eugene Austin.He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.He was a warehouse supervisor with ACI Distribution.Services are March 18 in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home, Wiggins, Miss., with interment at Wiggins Cemetery.GRANIER
NORCO – Antoine “Claude” Granier, 87, a native of Edgard and resident of Norco for 65 years, died March 12. He was the husband of the late Rhea Dugas Granier and father of Judy Borne, Edie Simoneaux and Claude “Bud,” Kenny and the late Claude Granier.He was also the son of the late Emilien and Delia Schmidt Granier and brother of Marie Bossier, Clifton Granier and the late Esther Jacobs and Eddie, Norman, Emile, Jack and Melvin “Cotton” Granier.He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.He was an operations supervisor with Shell Oil Co. for 37 years.Services were March 15 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Mausoleum, Destrehan.HICKERSON
HAHNVILLE – John B. “J.B.” Hickerson Sr., 66, a native and resident of Killona, died March 13. He was the husband of Dora Banks Hickerson and father of John B. Hickerson Jr.He was also the son of Gertrude D. KENNER – Ellen Bernhard Truitt Kay, 64, a native of Balfour, N.D., and resident of St. Charles Parish for 38 years, died March 15. She was the wife, by first marriage, of the late James Michael Truitt, wife of James E. Kay and mother of Desiree Champagne, Wade Guy and Rennie Truitt.She was also the daughter of the late Gladys Olson and Newton Bernhard and sister of Alden Bernhard and the late Donald Bernhard.She is also survived by five grandchildren.Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of L.A. Robert and mother of Molly Faucheaux, Margie Heurtin and Donald, Jimmy and the late Annabelle and Curry Robert.She was also the daughter of the late Theotine and Augusta Champagne Robert and sister of the late Alice Troxler, Coreen Gaudet, Ida Dufour, Anna Friloux and Willie, John, Joe, Albert, Jim, Wilfred, Emile and Eddie Robert.She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ama, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling. He was the husband of Willie Mae Johnson Webb and father of Gail Washington and Gwendolyn, Alton, Roger, Kenneth and Emmitt Webb III.He was also the son of Emmitt Sr. and the late Mary Dent Webb and brother of Annie Tolliver, Deler Courtney and Thomas, Joseph, Henry, Mack, Mell and the late Rubon Webb.He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.Dismissal services are today at 9 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church, Lettsworth, La., with interment at the church cemetery.
