Free art classes for St. Charles Parish senior citizens, age 60 and up, are from noon to 3 p.m. at the New Sarpy Senior Citizen Center. The class is taught by local artist and member of the Le Petit Art Guild Edie Corso. Supplies are furnished by St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department. Call Lois Eugene at 764-2412 to join. The LaPlace Duplicate Bridge Club holds a bridge game at 7 p.m. at the LaPlace Holiday Inn. The game is open to the public. A cancer support group for patients, friends and family who are dealing with cancer or have lost someone to cancer meets from 6-7 p.m. at River Parishes Hospital. The I Love to Read book drive
is taking place at St. John Parish Library branches. Unwanted childrens and adults books are being collected to distribute to those in need in the community. This program is sponsored by the River Net Digest 653-9423. FEB. 22

begins at 10 a.m. at its hall, located at 205 W. Fifth Street in LaPlace. Food and beverages will be available. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds going to cancer aid and research.
