BATON ROUGE – The Department of Natural Resources has produced a 30- minute video called “Rainwater Blues” about non-point source pollution and will supply all main branch libraries in the state with the video by Jan. 5.
The video encourages all citizens to help prevent this type of water pollution and to be aware of the number of non-point source pollution examples such as disposal of motor, oils, fertilizers and other products that can be carried away by rainwater into drainage ways that dump into lakes, rivers and bayous. Non-point source pollution poses a serious environmental problem for coastal waters and other water bodies in Louisiana.
Besides providing the video to all libraries, the DNR will also show the video on public access channels in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Alexandria, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Shreveport, Monroe, Morgan City, Natchitoches, Houma, Thibodaux, New Iberia and Franklin.
“Rainwater Blues” began airing recently.
