St. John Theatre community Christmas celebration. The theatre isholding its first community Christmas celebration today at 6:30 p.m. at thetheatre, located on West Fourth Street in Reserve.

Several organization, school and church choirs will perform and the evening will end outside around the Christmas tree with old-fashioned Christmas caroling.

“Santa Claws” photos with pets. The event, sponsored by PetsMartCharities, is today from 11 am. to 5 p.m. at PetsMart in Elmwood ShoppingCenter, 1000 South Clearview Dr.

Photo packages include two Polaroid pictures with an ornament and a decorative frame. The cost of the package is $9.95 (with Riverlands SPCAreceiving $5 per picture package).

Animals will also be available for adoption during the event.

A candlelight tour of San Francisco Plantation. Tours take placetoday from 5-8 p.m. at the plantation located in Garyville. Tours will be given in period costumes every 15 minutes.

Christmas decorations and music will be featured and refreshments will be served.

Cost is $12 each for adults, $20 per couple and $5 for children.

Laura Plantation Christmas 2000 candlelight tours. Tours take placethis evening at the manor house decorated in traditional Creole Christmas.

Cost is $15 per person, which includes light refreshment.

A Bah’ holiday potluck dinner and discussion. A discussion on Bibicalproofs of Christ’s return takes place today at Joan’s Day Care Center, 1712 Carrollwood Drive, second floor, in LaPlace. The dinner begins at 7 p.m. andthe discussion will follow.

The free event, open to the public, is sponsored by the Bah’s of St. JohnParish.

St. John Westside Volunteer Fire Department senior citizens’holiday dinner. The event is Sunday from 12:30-3 p.m. at the fire station,located in Edgard.

Dinners will also be delivered to sick and disabled persons who are unable to attend.

A living nativity. The nativy, open to the public, takes place Dec. 22beginning at 7 p.m. Five different local church denominations will join together on the vacant lot north of the Glade School on U.S. Highway 51 in LaPlace to create the livingnativity.

Holiday food drive. The Louisiana Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a fooddrive through the Christmas holidays.

All branches will have a designated container to deposit food items.
