DeBAUTTE

LAPLACE – Carol Elaine Vicknair deBautte, 83, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace for 22 years, died Dec. 2. She was the wife of the lateDelton deBautte and mother of Tanya Roma, Sharon Schultz and Carmen Feola.

She was also the daughter of the late Jean Louis and Marie L. Keller Vicknairand sister of Carmen Klibert, Lazina Guidry, Alice Schultz, Lois Saucier, Marius “Buddy” Vicknair and the late Rose Madere and J.L. Vicknair.She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 4 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

GUIDRY

NORCO – Craig John Guidry, 36, a native of Jefferson and resident of Destrehan, died Dec. 3. He was the husband of Julie Guidry and father ofJustin David Guidry.

He was also the son of Gary and Letty V. Guidry and brother of AliciaWindstein.

He is also survived by his grandparents Ruth Vicari and Delmo Guidry. He waspreceded in death by grandparents Anthony Vicari Sr. and Roy J. Guidry.Services are today at 8 p.m. in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home,Norco. Visitation starts at 6 p.m.

LEBLANC

NEW ORLEANS – Mattie Monson LeBlanc, 83, a native of White Castle and resident of Lutcher for 20 years, died Dec. 3. She was the wife of the lateArthur C. LeBlanc and mother of Marie Dimm.She was also the sister of Gertrude and Leonard Monson.

She is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 5 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home,New Orleans, with interment at St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1.

MATHEWS

METAIRIE – Gladys Elizabeth Mathews, 98, a native of Paradis and resident of Metairie for 59 years, died Dec. 2. She was the former wife of the late HarryS. Mathews Sr. and mother of the late Harry Jr. and Warren Mathews.She was the daughter of the late John and Marie Peppercorn Pitre and sister of the Mae Larre and the late Edna Jordan and Alma, Elma, Leola, John, Urban and Merline Pitre.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 4 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

PONTIFF

NEW ORLEANS – Marie Louise Williams Pontiff, 72, a native of Reserve and resident of Arabi, died Nov. 30. She was the wife of the late George A.Pontiff and mother of Carol Sparacio, Rosie Fitch, Peggy Wood, Louise Willhoft, Nancy Tedesco and Robert, James and Timothy Pontiff.

She was also the daughter of the late Alex and Alice Williams.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Dec. 4 in the chapel of St. Bernard Funeral Home, Chalmette,with interment at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.

TASTET

NORCO – Emile Charleston Tastet, 69, a native and resident of Norco, died Dec. 3. He was the brother of Olive Landeche, Odile Maggoire, Steven Tastetand the late Mildred Guillot, Shirley Schexnaydre and Lester, James and Warren Tastet.

He is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews, 31 great-nieces and nephews, and two great-great-nephews.

Services are today at noon at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan. Visitationstart at 10 a.m.

WILLIAMS

LAPLACE – Dorothy B. Williams, 69, a native and resident of LaPlace, diedDec. 2.She was the sister of Thelma Francis, Alma Fuller, Mable Taylor, Irene, Louise and Herman Breaux and stepsister of Junius Breaux.

Services were Dec. 2 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, LaPlace, with intermentat Woodlawn Cemetery, Napoleonville.

YOUNG

ST. ROSE – Everleanea T. Young, 62, a native of Betonia, Miss., and residentof St. Rose for 31 years, died Dec. 1. She was the wife of Edward Young andmother of Belina Hutchinson, Yolanda Lewis, Ramona, Jacqueline and Geraldine Young and Ray Thornton.

She is also the daughter of Alice Thornton and sister of Samuel, Roosevelt, Bozie, Edward and Johnnie Thornton.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, St. Rose, withinterment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
