Judges selected as lead officials

NEW ORLEANS – Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Edward A. DufresneJr. of Luling was elected chairman of the Louisiana Conference of Court ofAppeal Judges for 2000-2001 at a recent seminar in New Orleans.
Also, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Thomas F. Daley of LaPlace waselected to the position of secretary-treasurer.
The conference was held in conjuction with the Louisiana Judiciary College Seminar and annual joint meeting of the Louisiana Judiciary and the Judicial Court Administrators Assocation meeting.
Nearly 150 judges attended the seminar, which featured workshops and panel discussions of recent litigation and developments in jurisprudence, both civil and criminal.
The new officers for the one-year term also include First Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Burrell J. Carter in the position of vice-chairman.
