LaPlace resident is homecoming queen at McNeese State

LAKE CHARLES – Jilliane Raphiel, a mass communication senior from LaPlace, has been named McNeese State University’s 2000 Homecoming Queen.

Todd McCardle, an English education senior from Vinton, has been named McNeese’s Homecoming King.

Raphiel and other court members were presented during halftime ceremonies of the McNeese vs.

Jacksonville State football game Saturday night in Cowboy Stadium.

Raphiel, daughter of Jill and Harry Raphiel, is state president of the Louisiana Catholic College Students, president of the MSU Newman Club and Epsilon Alpha Epsilon, a Blue/Gold Peer Leader, a MSU Ambassador, a resident assistant and secretary of Lambda Pi Eta.

She is a member of the Student Government Association, Louisiana Communications Association, BACCHUS, the Log yearbook staff, Circle K, Resident Student Association and the president’s and dean’s list. She was also a member of the 1999 Homecoming Court and the 2000Spring Court.
