AUGUST

RESERVE – Elva “Mae-Mae” Charles August, 62, a resident of LaPlace, died Sept. 30. She was the wife of Wilbert August and mother of Tami Kelly andAnthony Valentine.

She was also the daughter of the late Edward and Winifred V. Charles andsister of Lynette Bernard, Pamela Charles, Cassandra Johnson, Mohir Aleem, Edward, Lowell, Lance and Terrence Charles and the late Beryl Shelton and Beulah Charles.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church,Reserve, with interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Reserve.

BARTHOLOMEW

MARRERO – Milton “Kruschev” J. Bartholomew Sr., 57, a native of Vacherieand resident of Marrero for many years, died Oct. 2. He was the father ofSedrick, Milton Jr. and Shenna Bartholomew.He was also the brother of Sidney, Jimmy, Alvin, George, Herman and Thomas Bartholomew.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Services are today at noon at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m.

CHOPIN

ALGIERS – Charles Chopin Jr., 71, a native of Vacherie and resident ofAlgiers, died Oct. 1. He was the father of Charlotte Bush and Zeldia Johnson.He was also the brother of Marie Bailey, Geareld Favorite and Wilbert, Henry, George Sr. and Larry Chopin Sr.He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 5 in the chapel of Murray Henderson Funeral Home,Algiers, with interment at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale.

McDONNELL

KENNER – Marie Noto McDonnell, 79, a native of St. Rose and resident ofKenner for 37 years, died Oct. 3. She was the wife of the late John F.McDonnell and mother of Mary Ball and Jennifer McDonnell.

She was also the daughter of the late Vito and Antoinia Noto and sister of Virginia Canale, Frances Leilli, Louis and Salvadore Noto and the late Josephine Abate, Angelina Gould, Genevieve Steinbrunner and Walter “Buster” and Vic Noto.

She is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 4 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Kenner,with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

OSBORNE

MARRERO – Sidney Gerald Osborne Jr., 69, a native of Vacherie and residentof Marrero for 57 years, died Oct. 1. He was the husband of Yvonne JohnsonOsborne and father of Adiadne Brown and Trent Osborne.

He was also the son of the late Sidney and Clonise H. Osborne and brother ofSusan Nicholas, Agnes Wade, Gwendolyn Martin, Diane Lewis and the late Iris Hick.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

He was a retired superintendent for the Jefferson Parish Department of Drainage.

Services were Oct. 6 at St. Mary Baptist Church, Marrero, with interment atRestlawn Park, Avondale.

PHILLIPS

RIVER RIDGE – Ollie Banks Phillips, 82, a native of St. James Parish andresident of River Ridge, died Sept. 30. She was the wife of the late HerbertPhillips Sr. and mother of Elmira “Marie” Johnson, Olivia Smith and HerbertPhillips Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Rev. Walter Sr. and Albertine Banksand sister of Emma Parnell and the late Ernestine Lee, Central Grant and Clothilde and Walter Banks. Jr.She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 6 at Providence Baptist Church, River Ridge, withinterment at Providence Memorial Park.

ROBERTS

EDGARD – Beatrice Hilaire Roberts, 82, a native and resident of Edgard, died Oct. 1. She was the wife of Harold Roberts and mother of Carolyn Young andWayne Roberts.

She was also the daughter of the late Ignace and Amelia Hilaire and sister of Evelyn Barre, Edith Meadoux, Antoinette Tanner, Betty Linton, Lucille Adams, Amelia Roussell, Juanita Green, Warren and Ignace Hilaire Jr. and the lateGeda Landeaux.

She is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 6 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, withinterment at the church cemetery.

SCHEXNAYDER

EDGARD – Honorene Schexnayder, 74, a native of Edgard and resident of New Orleans, died Oct. 1. She was the mother of Lorraine Boyd.She was also the daughter of the late Walter and Marie Alfred Schexnayder and sister of Antoinette Moll, Gertrude Johnson and Walter, Raymond and the late Clarence, Roland and Warren Schexnayder.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were Oct. 6 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, withinterment at the church cemetery.

STEWART

RESERVE – Wilbert “Dut” Stewart Sr., 57, a native of New Orleans and aresident of Reserve for the past 35 years, died Oct. 2. He was the husbandof Ruby Fisher Stewart and father of Troy, LeBaron, Aaron and Andre Fisher and Wilbert Jr. and Nadine Stewart.He was also the brother of James Rainey and Almetta Ursin.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are today at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, LaPlace.

VICKNAIR

RESERVE – Trezema J. “Noon” Vicknair, 94, a native and resident of Reserve,died Oct. 3. He was the husband of the late Eva Landry Vicknair and father ofAgnes Remondet, Julia Bourg, Mary Duhe, Leslie Vicknair and the late Eva “Tuttie” Vicknair and Marion Klibert.

He was also the brother of Louise Millet, Fortiene Vicknair and the late Juliet LaCour, Viola St. Martin, Adell Cambre, Leontine Luminais and Michel andCaffery Vicknair.

He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 5 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with intermentat the church cemetery.

WILSON

LAPLACE – Annie Mae Wilson, 71, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Sept.

29. She was the wife of the late Chester Wilson, mother of June, Gregg andBrandon Mitchell and stepmother of seven children.

She was also the daughter of the late Herbert and Henrietta Ford Mitchell and sister of Norman and Earl Mitchell and the late Lola Bougeois and Herbert Mitchell Jr.

She is also survived by six grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 6 at Rising Star Baptist Church, LaPlace, with intermentat Providence Rest Haven Cemetery, LaPlace.
