Arndt, Owens marry in Destrehan

DESTREHAN – Claire Marie Owens and Michael Alexander Arndt, both of Auburn, Ala., were united in marriage Sept. 2 at St. Charles BorromeoCatholic Church in Destrehan, with Monsignor Lawrence Hecker officiating.

A reception at Ormond Plantation in Destrehan followed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Janet and Marty Owens of Luling. She is alsothe granddaughter of Betty and Lawrence Owens of Luling and Mae and Harris Waguespack of Lockport.

The groom is the son of Jurgen M. Arndt and Brigitte Biczi of Germany. Heis also the grandson of the late Erwin A. and Rosa Arndt and Leonhard andMatilda Jaumann.

Maid of honor was Carrie Sirmon, and bridesmaids were Melissa Arndt, Jocelyn Cook, Kelly Brumbeloe, Sarah Owens and Pamela Owens. Theflower girl was Caitlin Dupuy.

Best man was Andrew Hoffman, and groomsmen were Derek Marshall, Derek Shoaf, Jeffrey Humenick, Jon Mooney and David Price. Ushers were JimDupuy, John Dupuy and John Weimer Jr.

The bride is a graduate of Hahnville High School and Auburn University, with a degree in economics and German and a minor in business. She was also amember of Omicron Delta Epsilon. She is employed as manager ofEnterprise Rent-A-Car in Auburn.

The groom is a graduate of Canyon High School, Anaheim, Calif., and AuburnUniversity, with three years of work toward a Ph.D. in economics atAuburn and the University of California. He is employed as a lab technician and isalso a student working toward a second degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering and mathematics from Auburn University.

Following the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Cancun and now reside in Auburn.
