More suspects sought for ‘Operation Summertime Blues’

HAHNVILLE – “Operation Summertime Blues 2000” is still looking for 10 people missed during the Aug. 14 pre-dawn roundup of suspected drugdealers.

Thirty-one suspects were sought in “Operation Summertime Blues 2000,” Sheriff Greg C. Champagne’s latest drug sweep of alleged street-level crackcocaine dealers. The sweep capped a four-month undercover operation.Twenty-one suspects were found that morning, and the remaining 10 are still targeted, including:

Gregory Brown, 41, 162 Diamond Road, Norco.

Wilbert Carter, 37, 210 S. Kinler St., Boutte.

Wilbert Ingram, 1102 Kinler St., Boutte.

Herbert Jenkins, 42, 162 Magnolia Ridge Road, Boutte.

Raymond Jenkins, 22, 1222 Paul Fredrick St., Luling.

John Paul Lewis, 17, 15200 Old Scenic Hwy., Baton Rouge.

Leonard London, 18, 802 Paul Fredrick St., Luling.

Morris Williams III, 24, 259 E. 27th St., Reserve.

Damion Washington, 24, 725 E. Lawson St., New Sarpy.

Keith Smith, 24, 1220 Paul Maillard Road Apt. 5, Luling.Sheriff’s office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes said additional arrests areexpected.

“We’re already making cases for our next sweep,” one undercover officer said.
