HAHNVILLE – The bright moon, nearly full, shone on the sleepy drug suspects as they were herded into the St. Charles Parish courthouse Monday beforedawn to await booking on drug charges.

Twenty-eight suspects were sought in “Operation Summertime Blues 2000,” Sheriff Greg C. Champagne’s latest drug sweep of alleged street-level crackcocaine dealers.

The undercover operation during the past four months included several videotaped drug buys to secure evidence of the activity across St. CharlesParish.

Those arrested include: Russel Bossier, 52, 91 Sunset Court, Hahnville, distribution of crack cocaine.

Torrey Champagne, 25, Apt. 90, 200 Sunset Court, Hahnville, distributionof crack cocaine.

Leonard London Jr., 18, 802 Paul Fredrick St., Luling, distribution ofmarijuana.

Tyrone Priestly, 23, 3604 Baytree St., Vacherie, false representation of acontrolled dangerous substance.

Karlo Brown, 20, 1112 Paul Fredrick St., Luling, first-degree robbery. Lorey Daniel, 49, 1112 Jones Lane, Luling, distribution of crack cocaine.

Neil Llewellyn, 45, 16 Cathy St., Norco, distribution of crack cocaine. James Macon, 50, 210 Cathy St., Norco, distribution of marijuana. Kentrell Richard, 23, 358 Second St., Norco, conspiracy to distribute crackcocaine, solicitation of minors to distribute controlled dangerous substances and aggravated assault.

A 16-year-old Luling male, two counts distribution of crack cocaine.

Patrick Scott, 19, 16 Cathy St., Norco, false representation of acontrolled dangerous substance.

Terry Sims, 40, 736 Mockingbird Lane, St. Rose, theft, conspiracy todistribute crack cocaine and vehicle trespass.

Noel Sumlin, 18, 3636 Alexander St., Boutte, two counts distribution ofcrack cocaine.

A 16-year-old St. Rose male, conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine andsimple robbery.

Andrew Perry, 32, 208 Johnson St., St. Rose, possession of crack cocaine. Darrell Flowers, 37, 906 E. McAdoo St., New Sarpy, distribution of a falsecontrolled dangerous substance.

Tremaine Scott, 17, 16 Cathy St., Norco, distribution of crack cocaine. Cleveland Williams Sr., 66, 1126 Kinler St., Luling, attempt and conspiracyto distribute controlled dangerous substance.

Calvin Preston, 24, 1117 Paul Fredrick St., Luling, possession with intentto distribute crack cocaine.

Chad Henley, 22, 264 Meadows Drive, Destrehan, distribution of a false controlled dangerous substance.

Corey Ferguson, 20, 525 Taylor St., Kenner, possession of crack cocaine.Yoes said additional arrests are expected.

“We’re already making cases for our next sweep,” one undercover officer said Monday morning.
