Carjack suspect’s victim escapes in St. Charles Parish

MONTZ – An unknown man reportedly abducted, attempted to rape and murder and stole the car of a Florida woman, leaving her in Montz on Sunday morning.
St. Charles Parish authorities are still looking for the man and the white FordTaurus with Florida plates.
Capt. Patrick Yoes of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that a40-year-old Florida woman was in the parking lot of the Days Inn, 1630 Canal St., New Orleans, when she was approached by a man who forced her backinto her white 1997 Ford Taurus and took over the wheel.
After driving around for some time, during which he allegedly threatened several times to kill her, they ended up on River Road in Montz about 5 a.m.Sunday, where she kicked the gear shift and stalled the vehicle.
He demanded sex from her and she refused, Yoes related, then the man choked her into unconsciousness. When she awoke minutes later the manwas fondling her.
She kicked him, kicked out the side window and made her escape. Thesuspect fled the scene in her vehicle, and she ran for help.
The suspect was described as a black male, 25 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 130 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt, dark shorts and black cap.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Detective Wally Fonseca at 443-0334. In St. Charles Parish, the suspect will face attemptedrape and murder charges. He will face kidnapping charges in New Orleans.
