Pittman, Foreman top 15 finishers

LUTCHER – Lutcher’s David Pittman and Jeremy Foreman, two members of the Bulldogs’ Class 3A state runner-up track team this spring, finished in the top 15 in their respective evenst at the Junior Olympics held in Buffalo, N.Y.July 30-31.

Pittman placed fifth in the 4×400-meter relay and Foreman was 12th in the triple jump and 14th in the high jump. Both athletes competed with the KYTrack Club.

“It was very competitive,” Pittman, competing in the Junior Olympics for the second straight year, said. “It was a great experience.”The KY Track Club finished the 4×400 in three minutes, 12 seconds. KY hadplaced third in its preliminary heat, the fastest of the heats.

Pittman, who ran the third leg in the relay, said he was contacted by the KY coach while competing at the state indoor meet this winter about joining the team and competing in the Junior Olympics.

For Foreman, this was his first time competing at the Junior Olympics but said he really wasn’t nervous about doing so.

“It was fun,” Foreman said. “I had some butterflies but not as much becauseI had gone to state.”Foreman had finished first in both events at both district and regionals.

“It was good competition,” Foreman said. “This is going to better me fornext track season.”
