CONVENT – Three Kaiser Aluminum management members were jailed for two days last week, their arrests stemming from violations of picket line rules established by the court.
Jailed for contempt of court were Human Resources Manager Steve Olds, Safety and Training Manager Carlos Suarez and maintenance superintendent Mike Miles.
Judge Pegram Mire said the three intentionally violated his March 9 order requiring vehicles to submit to picketing for 25 seconds.
During the same hearing, held May 8, one union member, Mark Louque, was jailed on the same charge, according to Clerk of Court Edmond Kinler.
Mire also ordered Kaiser to post stop signs at all picketed areas, within 10 days of his order, reading: “All vehicles must stop for picketers. Expectdelay of 25 seconds.”
