EGLE LAPLACE – Flossie D. Egle, 71, a native of Mangham and resident of LaPlacefor 10 years, died Jan. 9. She was the wife of the late Richard S. Egle andmother of Shaon Childress, John Hebert and Kelton Egle.
She was also the sister of Patricia Dulaney, Mary Lou Newman, Dennis and Robert Newman.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at Mandeville Cemetery, Mandeville. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.
FRANCIS EDGARD – Patricia Ann Francis, 42, a native of Edgard and resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 6. She was the mother of Sherrie, Keisha and NatashaFrancis.
She was also the daughter of Willie Francis and the late Albertha Narcisse Francis and sister of Denise Lewis, Mary Keller and Willie Jr., Dennis,Michael, Wayne and the late Corrine Francis.
Services were held Jan. 11 at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church,Edgard, with interment at Young Cemetery, Edgard.
HERKES KENNER – Warren John Herkes Jr., 44, a native of New Orleans, resident ofKenner for 29 years, and resident of Destrehan for 10 years, died Dec. 29.He was the husband of Rhonda Lee Herkes and father of Alexis, Raymond and Warren “Trey” Herkes III.
He was also the son of Marie Etta Sansom Herkes and brother of Desiree Meree and Shawn Herkes.
Services were held Dec. 30 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son FuneralHome, Kenner, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
JOHNSON BOUTTE – Benjamin “Benny” “BJ” Johnson, 43, a native and resident of Boutte, died Jan. 5. He was the husband of Melanie Johnson and father ofBrittany, LaShelle and Delbert Johnson.
He was also the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Anna Mae Johnson andbrother of Joella McCray, Liz Marshall, Anna Marshall, Johnnie Proby, Patty Militello, Mary, Charles and Joseph Johnson Jr. and the late Ethel White,Jana Scrivens and Joanna Brown.
Services were held Jan. 10 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boutte, withinterment at St. Mary Cemetery, Boutte.
JOHNSON LAPLACE – Percy J. “P.J.” Johnson, 65, a native and resident of LaPlace,died Jan. 6. He was the husband of Lee Esther Williams Johnson and fatherof Valerie Mason and Berrie, Kathy, Cindy, Denise, Kevin and Percy Johnson Jr.
He was also the brother of Vivian Davis, Beulah Colbert, Barbara Breaux, Dianne, Margie, Wilbert, J.D., Sidney, Raymond and Herman Johnson and theRev. Randolph Anthony.He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
Services are Jan.13 at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church No. 1, LaPlace,with interment at Providence Rest Haven Cemetery. Visitation startstomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
LAMBERT BATON ROUGE – John Harold Lambert Sr., 81, a native of Destrehan andresident of Baton Rouge, died Jan. 8. He was the husband of Marie Dorothy”Dottie” Cambre Lambert and father of Judith Matherne, Dorothy Bourgeois and John Jr., Kenneth, Adrian and Douglas Lambert.He was also the son of the late Paul and Julia Langhouser Lambert and brother of Annabelle Dwyer, Helen Ross, Edwina Casey, Jessie, Roland and Charles Lambert and the late Ethel Damare and P.D. Jr. and EdwardLambert.
He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, with interment at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum.Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
LEDET HARVEY – Anna Trosclair Ledet, 78, a native of Edgard and resident of Algiers, died Jan. 6. She was the wife of the late Ally J. Ledet Sr. andmother of Barbara Keller and Ally Ledet Jr.
She was also the daugher of the late Adelin and Louise Paille Trosclair, and the sister of Loucille Gibson and the late Angele Guidry, Blanche Ory, Louise Leson, Marie Hebert and Robert, Joseph and Lucien Trosclair.
She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 8 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey,with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park.
MILLET LAPLACE – Norman S. Millet, 76, a native of Lions and resident of Reservefor 50 years, died Jan. 10. He was the husband of the late Verna WeberMillet, father of Jan Chiquet, Melanie, Brenda, Rosalind, Norman Jr. andBrad Millet and step-father of Lynn, Randy, Kevin and Brent Gordon.
He was also the son of the late Samuel and Corinne Millet and brother of Edna Miano, Velma Jacob, Lucille Barthel and Dennis, Irving, Earl “Mac,” Jr., Elson and the late Raymond Millet.He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
Services are Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-10 p.m. todayand starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
RILEY NEW ORLEANS – Herbert Adolph Riley, 74, a native of Lutcher and resident of New Orleans for 57 years, died Jan. 6. He was the husband of LenoraRiley and father of Herbrette Felton, Gwendolyn Gatlin, Gaynell Holmes and Alma, Patricia, Pamela, Walter, Jerome, Kenneth, Keith, Leslie and Herbert Riley Jr. and step-father of Ursula Merrick, Elyria Dunn and Thomas andCarlos Zuniga.
He was also the brother of Joseph Riley.
He is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church, New Orleans,with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
SCHMIDT NEW ORLEANS – Robbie Peters Schmidt, 88, a native of Lutcher and resident of New Orleans, died Jan. 6. She was the wife of the late MichaelSchmidt and mother of Maenell Langsford, Carmel Babin, Darlene Miller, Michael Schmidt and the late Celeste Schmidt.
She was also the sister of Katie Price and the late Beatrice Bracamontes and Jeannette Berthoaut.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 11 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son FuneralHome, New Orleans, with interment at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetey No. 3.
SMITH ST. JAMES – Olivia “Lee-Lee” Smith, 61, a native and resident of St.James, died Jan. 5. She was the wife of the late Eddie Smith and mother ofSandra Favorite, Pernell Smith and Craig Johnson.
She was also the daughter of the late Gilbertine Dillion and Christopher Knockum and sister of Irene Bob, Diane Washington, Linda Johnson, Joseph and Roy Dillion and the late Roland Knockum and Lionel and Leroy Johnson.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 11 at St. Luke Baptist Church, St. James, withinterment at the church cemetery.
STOCKMAN EDGARD – Larry Stockman Jr., 19, a native of Edgard and resident ofLaPlace, died Jan. 6. He was the son of Elouise Grows Stockman and thelate Larry Stockman Sr. and brother of Stephanie Howard, Dana, Mark, Jadaand Vada Stockman and the late Marsha and Cassandra Stockman.
Services were held Jan. 10 at Second African Baptist Church, Edgard, withinterment at Young Cemetery, Edgard.
