LUTCHER – The 10th annual Festival of the Bonfires is set Dec. 10-12 atthe Knights of Columbus fairgrounds, featuring food, live entertainment, crafts, Santa’s Very Merry Forest and carnival rides.
Admission is $2, with free admission for children ages 12 and under.
Christian LeBlanc, area native and actor who portrays attorney Michael Baldwin on “The Young and the Restless,” will make personal appearances on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival will host a catered social at the Knights of Columbus Home, where the public will be able to meet LeBlanc and his family, provided they have tickets.
For a donation of $50, the public can get one ticket to the social and one free admission to the festival. Tickets must be purchased in advance andare limited. No tickets will be sold at the door.Tickets can be purchased from the Decor Shoppe in Lutcher by calling Camella St. Pierre-Landry at (225) 869-8623, or Crystal Faucheux at(225) 869-0036.
Each night of the festival will be highlighted by a bonfire lighting at 7 p.m. Shuttles to the levee are available nightly at 6:30 p.m., with parkingat Lutcher High School.
The festival opens at 4 p.m. on Dec. 10 with the annual gumbo cook-off,with judging at 5:30 p.m. and music by Mellow Hi Lite from 5-7 p.m. Musicby Misbehavin is set 8 p.m. to midnight.On Dec. 11, activities open at 8:30 a.m. with the 5K run and one-milerun/walk. The festival itself opens at 10 a.m., along with the Biker’sPoker Run.
Autograph signing with LeBlanc is set from noon to 2 p.m., and the MissFestival of the Bonfires pageant is set at 6 p.m. Music is set at thefestival grounds from 7-11 p.m. by Kane Glaze and Coozan.On Dec. 12, the festival opens at 10 a.m. with the Million-Mutt March, andmusic will be provided by Kim Carson and the Casualties until 2 p.m. Theannual Christmas parade is set at 2 p.m. with LeBlanc as the grandmarshal.
