BREAUX BRIDGE – St. James is back in a familia place, the quarterfinals,after defeating Breaux Bridge, 48-27, Friday night.

St. James (9-2) will play Benton next week. Breaux Bridge ended itsseason at 7-4.

Devon Dabney scored twice in the first half, the second set up by a deep pass from Corey Webster to Davin Dennis. That duo connected again asDennis made a diving grab in the end zone for a score. Montrell Steib addedanother touchdown on a sweep to the left.

Jarvis Williams scored twice for Breaux Bridge.

Teurlings 21, Lutcher 14

CARENCRO – Adam Fisher scored on a 2-yard run with 5:20 left in the fourth quarter, leading Teurlings Catholic to a 21-14 victory over Lutcher Friday night in the regional playoffs at Carencro High School.

Teurlings (9-2) will play Cecilia, a 35-34 winner over Redemptorist, in the quarterfinals next week.

Lutcher, the District 9-3A champions, finished its season at 9-3.

Lutcher had a final opportunity after Fisher’s run but Justin Strodered intercepted Thomas Ricks at the 2-yard line with 2:46 left and the Rebels were able to run out the clock.

Teurlings got on the scoreboard first as Justin Guy scored on a 11-yard run with 4:43 left in the first quarter. A 12-yard run by Ross Armentorwith 1:35 left in the second quarter increased the lead to 14-0.

Lutcher responded with a play reminescent of the one against East St. Johnin the first game of the season. Risely St. Germain took a toss from Ricksand found Kenneth Johnson on a 48-yard scoring strike. T.J. Bourgeoisadded the extra point, cutting the deficit to 14-7. The Bulldogs tied thegame with 2:29 left in the third quarter on a 3-yard run by William Adams and Bourgeois’ extra point.

Adams finished the game as the Bulldogs’ leading rusher with 73 yards on nine carries. Damian Ursin carried 13 times for 71 yards while JerronWishom had four carries for 37 yards. Ricks completed 7-of-16 passes for115 yards. Johnson caught four of passes for 121 yards. Wishom added 28yards on two catches.

Fisher led Teurlings with 80 yards on 25 attempts. Armentor had 44 yardson six carries. Guy rushed for 21 yards and completed 5-of-12 passes for76 yards. He was intercepted once, by Bernard Riley. Dustin Padegett ledthe receivers with three catches for 53 yards.
