CATOIRE LAPLACEMax “Bear” Catoire, 64, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 12. He was the husband of Margaret James Catoire and father ofWesley Catoire.

He was also the son of the late Leon and Birdie Catoire and brother of Jean McKinney, Dixie Rome, Patsy Oubre and Jack Dempsey Catoire.

Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.GORIO GARYVILLEAlma Torres Gorio, 82, a native and resident of Garyville, died Nov. 12. She was the wife of the late Earl L. Gorio and mother of Dianne Roussel and Earl J. Gorio.She was also the daughter of the late Wilson and Maria Torres and sister of Audrey Schexnayder and J.P., Wilson Jr., Lynn, Donald and the lateMurphy Torres.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 15 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, withinterment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.JACKSON PAULINAFloyd Jackson Sr., a resident of Gramercy, died Nov. 11. He wasthe father of Sheila Lawrence, Della Parks and Floyd Jr., Kenneth, Darnell,Cynthia, Karen and Sherman Jackson.

He was also the son of the late James Sr. and Lillie B. Jackson and thebrother of Priscilla Phillips, Rosa Becnel, James Jr., Jerome Sr. and GaylonJackson and the late Evans Beckett.

He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 15 at Evergreen Baptist Church, Paulina, withinterment at Antioch Cemetery, Paulina.

SYMPSON LAPLACETerry S. Sympson, 51, a native of Illinois and a resident ofLaPlace for 16 years, died Nov. 14. He was the father of Shawn Smith,Jeffrey, John and the late Leslie Sympson.

He was also the brother of Carol Cruz and Christine, Kenneth, Sam and Charles Sympson.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at noon in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitationstarts at 10 a.m.
