Alligator Festival set for this weekend

LULING – “Mister Alligator,” also known as Russell Hoch, president of the St. Charles Parish Rotary Club, will host the 20th annual AlligatorFestival this weekend.
The festival begins Thursday on the fair site at U.S. Highway 90 nearCoronado Park subdivision in Boutte and continues through Sunday night.
The fest will include live music, crafts, carnival rides, 17 food booths and alligator cuisine.
An alcohol-free night of pay-one-price carnival rides is planned Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m., with refreshments from Hahnville High School’s Hi-Steppers. Another ride-only night is planned Friday from 6-10 p.m. Thereal meat of the festival is planned Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., andSunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.Music is planned Saturday with Louisiana Kids from noon to 1:30 p.m.,Kingroe from 1:45 to 3 p.m., Blind Ambition from 4 to 6 p.m., TiffanyHarpel from 6 to 6:30 p.m., Dual Exhaust from 6:30 to 8 p.m., NannahSchmill and Gina Cazenave from 8 to 8:30 p.m. and another set from DualExhaust from 8:30 to 10 p.m.Also set on Saturday is a performance from Dance Unlimited from 3:30 to 4 p.m.Music planned Sunday includes the Zion Harmonizers from noon to 1:30 p.m., Allen Fontenot and the Country Cajuns from 2 to 4 p.m., Heart andSoul from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and David Morgan from 7 to 9 p.m.Performances are also set by Johanna’s Jazz-in-Motion from 1:30 to 2 p.m., Destrehan High’s Desty Darlings from 4 to 4:30 p.m. and the HahnvilleHigh Hi-Steppers from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
