BOUTTE – Having already exceeded last year’s win total, the Hahnville Tigers will look to complete a perfect pre-district record this Friday against Northside.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Hahnville’s Tiger Stadium.Hahnville has opened the season with wins against Sarah Reed (42-6) and Ponchatoula (24-19), one more than it had all of last year when it went through a 1-8 nightmare.

The Tigers are getting production from their offense, something that often was not the case last year. Dawan Landry has passed for three touchdownsin each of the two games. Landry threw for 181 yards against Reed inweek one and came right back with a 198 yard performance last week.

The Tigers running attack has also been effective, gaining 302 yards in week one and 78 last week.

The defense has also come through. Against Reed, the Tigers held theOlympians off the score board until the final minutes. Friday night, thedefense held Ponchatoula’s Ronald McClendon, a preseason all-state selection, to 63 yards on 22 carries.

Northside, a member of District 5-4A, is looking to improve on a 3-7 last season. The Vikings can equal their win total from a year ago with avictory after wins over Crowley (41-13) and Istrouma (32-24).

Jacoby Lewis led the Vikings against Istrouma Friday, rushing for 121 yards and two scores on 22 attempts. Junior Quarter-back Joseph Thibeauxadded three touchdown runs and fullback Orlando Thomas one in the win.

The strength of the defense is a linebacking corps led by Justin Hernandez and Alex Alexander. Tackle Mark Breaux, end James Stelly and defensivebacks Terrence Onizeme and Eric Carmouche also return.
