HENLEY

NEW ORLEANS – Anita Melancon Henley, 79, a native of Convent and a resident of New Orleans for 65 years, died Aug. 15. She was the mother ofAnn, Marion and Lorraine Brown and Marie, Maurice and Herbert Henley Jr.

She was also the sister of Irma Innis and Calvin and Gustave Melancon Jr.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at Epiphany Catholic Church, New Orleans,with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.

RICHARD

CONVENT – Wilfred Richard, 66, a native of Mt. Airy and a resident ofConvent, died Aug. 16. He was the husband of Mary Richard and father ofAnna Kennard and Juanita, Deborah, Floyd, Lloyd and Bernard Richard.

He was also the brother of Dorothy Thomas and Enolia Stewart.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Jeremiah Baptist Church, Convent, withinterment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

ROME

NEW ORLEANS – Olga Marie Rome, a native of St. James Parish and aresident of New Orleans, died Aug. 17. She was the daughter of the lateJean and Eulalie Marse Rome and sister of Eunice Rome, George “Eula” Blass and the late Ada and Velma Rome.

Services were held Aug. 20 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son FuneralHome, New Orleans, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

ROUILLIER

METAIRIE – Lynda Millet Rouillier, 84, a native of Lutcher, long time resident of New Orleans, and a resident of Pensacola, Fla., for seven years,died Aug. 17. She was the wife of the late Louis C. Rouillier and mother ofLynda Leaber and Paul, Ronald and Louis Rouillier.

She was also the daughter of the late Felix and Anna Laiche Millet and sister of Haydee Van Mannen, Pearl Peytavin, Harold Millet and the late May LeBlanc.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held Aug. 20 at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, Metairie,with interment at Garden of Memories.

SIMONEAUX

DES ALLEMANDS – Garnet Deroche Simoneaux, 79, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died Aug. 17. She was the wife of the late Riece Simoneauxand mother of Judy Walton, Catherine Accardo and Betty Burleson.

She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Chloe Picou Deroche and sister of Ruby Coriell, Mae Belle Hogan, Lois Forrest, Barbara Weinkauf, Gerry, Gerald and Daniel Deroche, the late Espazie Quin and Pearl and Leroy Deroche.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 20 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, DesAllemands, with interment at the church cemetery.

SONGY

LULING – Aubin Anthony Songy Jr., 68, a resident of Luling, died Aug. 17. Hewas the husband of Lou Ann Lacour Songy and father of Claire Guidry, Paula Gonzales and Steven and Douglas Songy.

He was also the son of the late Aubin Sr. and Philomine Stewart Songy andbrother of Margaret Meyer, Phillis Hingle, Annette Toomer, Sylvia Davis, Sr. Linda Songy, Russell Songy and the late Jeanne Songy.He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 20 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, withinterment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

TOUCHARD

DES ALLEMANDS – Myron Anthony Touchard Sr., 65, a native of DesAllemands and a resident of Luling, died Aug. 18. He was the husband ofSylvia Caillet Touchard and father of Teddi Roberts and Myron “Matt” Jr.,Patrick and Brandon Touchard.

He was also the son of the late Felix and Ena Labat Touchard Jr. andbrother of Barbara Mongrue and June and Felix Touchard III.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at noon at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands,with private interment. Visitation starts at 11 a.m.
